Propylene glycol, the primary ingredient in the electronic cigarette cartridge, may be a powerful deterrent against pneumonia, influenza, and other respiratory diseases when vaporized and inhaled according to a study by Dr. Oswald Hope Robertson. Decades before the e cigarette was invented, a study was conducted by Dr. Robertson of the University of Chicago's Billings Hospital in 1942 on inhalation of vaporized propylene glycol in laboratory mice. Ant this has been known since the 1940's I think... They use, or used, it in hospital air conditioning systems to keep air born bacteria levels down, and stem the spread of contagious ailments.

Yeah but recent studies have showed that vaporizing PG may be giving off off very small but measurable amounts of formalin..

100% VG based juices may be the way forward. I think there is a reason why all EcoPure e-juice is 100 % VG.

Not had a single cough/cold/fever or anything since I started vaping, despite spending a lot of time around some of my friends who are always full of one thing or another, taking a lot of public transport and spending lots of my evenings cramped with strangers in cold church halls and hospitals. I really believe it's because of vaping.

I believed that too till I came down with a nasty case of cold and throat pain two days ago which has still got a good grip on me.

But I must say I am not suffering as much as I used to..Only problem is I can't smell anything.. :-[

Ah that's no fun Macca, I do think vaping must offer some protection or perhaps lessen the symptoms as you say ? I've been in very close contact with people who have been very ill with bugs and colds in the past few months and I don't seem to be able to catch anything ???

I must admit I sneezed and farted a lot at work....

i've just tried my first 50/50 juice and i've been feeling a little asthmatic , could be coincidence but i'm going to leave it alone for a while and see how it goes , It was the Asthma that made me give up the fags and i've been 100% fine since i quit , fingers crossed its not any other vaping related issue
