I don't know if they are legal in the UK, but I ride an electric assist bicycle in the warmer weather. It's a heck of a lot of fun and I can use it on the side of the road and stay out of the traffic.

Funnily enough my car is booked in for it's MOT Wednesday Camper, my car tax was £245 as it's a 2 litre petrol engine so hows that work then if your's is 2.3 and less - or is that just the annual increase? Crikey Jaki, you do some miles in a year, I barely do 2,000 now . . . my insurance has gone up 60 odd quid since last despite being of a certain age where I can insure with an 'oldies' company and they're the cheapest I can find still. I believe you do Jerry with gas, I think we have about the most expensive petrol in Europe and with the Lybia/Middle East business there's been talk of more rises here. my tax will be the same as yours this year mand, my mates got a 3.2 gold and pays £400 tax for his, mines a 2.3 turbo sport thats like shit of a stick and ive had it up to 160mph.

Love that motor Sean . . . and love the sound of Campers fast wheels! My brother always had fast bikes/cars and my ex husband was a bit of a petrol head/biker and it kind of rubbed off on me . . . even though I don't do many miles now, the few I do do, I like to do them quickly.

I don't think i'd want a mega fast car, no point when most of my driving is restricted to 50 mph > with those overhead cameras but i do love big cars, my baby is a black Toyota Surf 3ltr, she's an oldie but has never let me down.... takes about £70 to fill the tank tho...just as well i don't do that many miles, lol

So much for the Government introducing that floating or sliding subsidy thing on petrol then Tony.

Perpy, our weather isn't great either, what with the cold/snowy winters and hot/humid summers, but we do have some decent weather in late spring/early summer and again in late summer/early fall. That's when I do most of my two wheeling.

Now I have to do the math for the conversion. Ok, if I did it right, that comes to .56 pounds (56 pence?) per liter. We are still paying much less for fuel over here than you are, but it's climbing.

Ooooo, I used to love being pillion on a bike Jerry . . . even had a provisional bike licence myself, but never got round to taking my test. Though I don't think I'd fancy biking much now, with all the traffic there is on the roads. Your gas is a heck of a lot cheaper than ours still . . . think I paid around £1.36 a litre last time I filled up.

I credit myself with having saved thousands of lives, and thousands 'n thousands of pounds, by never having taken a driving test.
It's the one chance I have of being let into heaven.

My insurance rose by about £70 this year (for no good reason) to around £520 fully comp. My car is modified - it's a 2002 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible "hotted up" over 270bhp and 370Nm of torque - so I have to use specialist insurers.
