Go for it, as regardless of the price and quality, your "junk" should last at least six months under UK law, unless you've been chucking it around.

No idea how that translates across the continent, but as I said you have nothing to lose and a few weeks of use is pretty pathetic.

Stick with paypal dispute, don't cost you anything and are very good. Done it myself for a £8 item :-[ but them £8's get forgotten and the seller reaps the rewards.

Izan, yes I had a good day moneywise today - does that mean I should let him off with it? What if someone else new buys one, as that's all they can afford and they have the same issue?

It's not about the money - it's the principle of the thing - and if you don't agree with that so be it.

As for calming down, I already have a long time ago - yes I was angry at his customer service as tbh it's been shocking - I will not allow him to sell me crap and then accuse me of 'misuse' yeah it was only £30 - but that is NOT the point.

I will do what I feel is right - regardless of your views.

I am curious to know how you knew it cost less than £30 shipped when Ratty hasnt mentioned where she ordered it from and why it seems such a personal affront to you that she is unhappy?

I watched the thread as she rung her hands about it and then finally, could not let the deal get away and ordered. Seemingly against her better judgement.

Most of the vendors here are one guy/gal. No one forces anyone to buy anything. The vendor tries to bring the best quality at the best price. It is not a huge faceless corporation that only wants your money, it a person like you and me trying to make a living.

He/she had a bunch of these units left from last year.
They didn't sell well at £££, because they sucked, so a year later they are being given away for £.

It's not an evil plot.

I just think you have to be careful where you buy from--there are lots of reputable vendors on this forum who are well recommended by the members--I personally wouldn't buy from anyone else just to save a few pennies.

It matters not a jot what monetary value they were sold at, could be 10 pence, could be 1k, goods sold as new and working should do that, work for an expected period of time, if they were shoddy then customer get's money back, vendor loses money, tough, serves them right for knowingly selling shoddy goods, if that was the case they should have been described properly, and priced accordingly, viva la customer.

I did go with a vendor on this forum.
