Should get sick pay but don't know for how long only good thing is Xmas starts early

It's possible you may only need a couple of weeks off, it all depends on you and your body.
All I can say is my daughter had hers removed Nov last year and what a difference

Yes can't wait for it all to be over its been awful I've had it for ages and sometimes the pain just cripples me

It was a few years ago now, but i am sure i was back at work within a week or so. But you may need to check with doctor if you do a lot of lifting.
