Hello everyone, new to the forums. been lurking for a while researching which starter kit to buy. I've narrowed it down to these two: CE5 Starter Kit www.exhalecigarette.co.uk/eXhale-CE5-Starter-Kit-p/ece5sk.htmVE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-ve-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151Out of the two which would you recommend? At the moment I'm smoking 12.5g of Amber Leaf a day, with filters. I want a battery that will last nearly/all day after an overnight charge, and I dont want to be ordering new tank/cartomizer thingies every other week. The Riva kit sounds the best for battery life but the CE5 has replacable wicks for the tank? Also, I know this is subjective, but can anyone recommend a liquid to keep me going over the xmas period? As I said I'm smoking Amber leaf rollies, but I dont like Old holborn as its too harsh for me and not so keen on Golden Virginia Cheers

I've only just started vaping so a few thoughts for you. I smoked Amber Leaf as well, maybe about the same amount or a little less. I have the Exhale kit, just seen it's deal of the day @ £20 Both vendors have a good reputation, I've not had a problem with Vapeescape to test this, but loads of people are very happy with the service from Jason and Ellen I found the CE'5 from exhale leaked, a common problem with various models it seems, Exhale replaced them quickly and without hassle ( I sealed the tanks on the replacements with superglue before use and they don't leak ) The 2 batteries last me all day no problem, one 650 would not be enough. Not sure if the 1100 would last all day on it's own. But the batteries are consumables as well, you will need to replace them at some point. I found I bought cartomisers to try and various other clearomisers to try and find the right one for me. Expect to buy lots of different bits and pieces as you get hooked on vaping So as it's on special today, £20 for that kit is a bargain, I'd go for the Exhale as a cheap way to see if you get on with vaping. Although the vapeescape kit looks good as well. All these cheap clearomisers have a fairly sort lifespan, the coils and wicks break and need replacing. You need to keep spares of everything if you are going to rely on vaping as NRT ( unless your lucky with a good vaping shop near you you can't just pop out to replace something you need > I found that tobacco flavours didn't do it for me and am discovering flavours that I like are more fruity. So don't go in thinking tobacco is the only way to go.

try a kit from vapescape 2 batteries usb charger and a couple of ce's better to have a backup and 1100 will last most of the day (ex 50 a day amberleaf man myself)
agree on flavour but vapescape has a sample pack quite cheap and also use discount codes found in vendor threads. You may even be entered for the xmas draw
try RY4 and something sweet and something fruit wise you will be pleasantly suprised look under the grizwalds range pick and mix
whatever you do leave the cocomel alone!!!
Welcome

Hi and welcome. I used a cig-a-like for 4 weeks and found I was going through at least 3 batteries a day, changing every 2-3 hours. Got a Riva 1100 from VE a couple of weeks ago and have been grinning since. A fully charged battery lasts me all day and they don't take much longer to charge than the little ones did (I haven't timed it but it's about 2 hours for the little ones and 2.5 hours for the 1100's). I usually put a fresh btty on in the morning and charge the other. Same again next day.

I smoked Amber Leaf, about 10g a day. Quit on JacVapour kit, but got fed up with charging and carrying around the charger (PCC). Moved onto a Riva....can't recommend it more highly.
Personally, I'd rather not choose a 650mah battery (exhale kit).....because a 650 isn't guaranteed to do a day for me, whereas an 1100 Riva will and even after months of using it.
As for tobacco....um.....
I enjoyed Amber Leaf, GV, Cherry "loose", Dutch or American Burley.
Still yet to find a truly satisfying tobacco flavour. Mostly, I mix "light tobacco" flavours (USA mix, Virginia, Desert Ship, DK tab) with a drop or ten of vanilla or caramel.
or just vape straight lemon-ish types.

They are both good starter kits. On balance I think I'd get the Riva because it includes some good cartomisers as well as a clearomiser, gives you a chance to try both.
OK Smokey does Amber Leaf flavour at various strengths. Don't buy any of their kits.

Hi partlycloudy - hope you will be sunny all day when you start vaping I'd agree with others - go for the 1100 mAh Rivas if you want a battery to last you most of a day; these will last nearly twice as long between charges as a 650mAh battery. When you decide whether you prefer cartomisers or clearomisers you will soon have to get some more and perhaps try a few variants. Cartomisers will last a few days, clearomisers a few weeks, plus you will probably want a few on the go to check out different juices. To start with though just get a few small bottles of juice to try and see how you like it

Thanks for all your helpful comments, cheers!
I've gone for the Riva 110 kit mainly for the more powerful batteries. I'll try the amber leaf in the new year, but for now have ordered some 18mg RY4 as I keep seeing it mentioned a lot on this forum and I want my order to arrrive all at once.
One more question, the kit comes with one clearomiser and I want to order another one as backup, can anyone recommend a rebuildable one for these batteries? The vision vivi nova looks interesting, whats the advantages between a long and short wick? It says on vapescape that these batteries need a resistance higher than 2 ohms whatever that means?
Thanks

Rivas are *rumoured* to sometimes pump out over 4 volts freshly charged. That being the case, it is feasibly possible to over-do it with an atomiser under 1.8ohms. I used the 1.8 vivi nova on mine for a while but t.b.h. it blew my head off. Long wick vs. short wick = well, long wicks reach to the bottom of the container/clearo and are supposed to wick up the liquid when it's less full. To be honest, most clearomisers need swooshing/tilting to keep the wick wet, so if you don't even do that, it'll probably dry up anyway. I had exactly the same kit as that, it's excellent, but I burnt out the head in under 24 hours not swooshing the liquid around enough. These days, I turn the whole thing upside down every now and again..... I use 1.8 ohm cartos and clearos from time to time, they are terrific. Most people seem to go for the 2.4 - safer and you can ramp up the volts on a VV device if you need. So much to learn, quite a few pitfalls....keep asking away. I too would very much like to know the easiest and best rebuildable (proper rebuildable) atomisers for this type of battery. I can rewick a mini nova/CE5/T3 but they are not 100%. Unfortunately, if you mess it up on a Riva, say bye bye to the battery. I have a meter to test them, I understand the electrics/theory, but I'd suggest staying clear if you rely on the 2 batteries...but that's only from my experience....
