This is my 3rd attempt to post this as I keep losing my connection....Is there an adaptor or something I can connect 2 pc's to a modem by ethernet, as opposed to having mine connect by wireless to the downstairs modem. The modem only has one port to connect an ethernet cable to.

I used to connect by cable to our old modem which had 3 or 4 ports to connect to.......This problem is driving me mad. I have already done the channel change thing via the talk-talk help page & it was ok for a week, but I'm back where I started now......... >

Oh no! Did you not fix it from the last time? You can pick up a cheap ethernet hub or switch off ebay. Thought you had a router .. Huawei something or other ... does that not have spare ports ?

Switch the router off and on again. My son has to do it several times a day, it's all good though as going down and up the stairs is about all the exercise he gets

it does sound like interference ... until you get an app to scanning the other interfering routers in your vicinity and set the router to a clear channel, you will get this consistently. Does it occur at a particular time of day ?

yep that'll do it. I take it you have an ethernet card in your PC? You will need a run of cabling as well
