This was my first venture into vaping and i used skycig to buy 2 kits for my wife and i,(before i knew of this forum),i will not use skycig again as i have had 2 mains chargers and 2 usb leads fail on me in the last week as well as the useless batteries lasting 20 minutes. We have upgraded now but my wife likes to use them when shes out due to the size.Avoid skycig but most of you veterans know that.I need to buy 2 new mains chargers now so codes welcome.

Why not try and get 2 replacements out of skycig. It's a charger....and should last a reasonable length of time. Just tell that under the The Sale of Goods Act 1979, products are "Of a satisfactory quality - The goods should be free from minor defects, safe and durable for a reasonable length of time"If they have an issue, tell them you are on all the e-cigarette forums.... When they tell you to sling your hook, pop a note to trading standards. - - - Personally, I'd just rubbish them on a few review sites, then buy something small and half decent that works with your standard 510 kit.

Dowden, if your wife likes to use a ciggie lookalike while out & about, have a look at this kit for £6.99 0r 2 of the kits for £13.49 - www.cavecom.com/screwdriverSD/shopSD/socialsmoker.shtmlAs for a mains charger you can plug your USB chargers into most USB wall plug adapters - for instance, many mobile phones come with USB wall plugs. Lol, just trying to save you some money

I started vaping with Skycig and they replaced a faulty battery for me.
Now while I no longer use them, they did get me from a 40 a day smoking habit, onto vaping and kept me there during my first month.
Okay, they now languish in a drawer and I use better PVs and Cartos, but they did do what they said on the box and I will be ever grateful that they introduced me to the wonderful world of vaping.
Although we look down on cigalikes, at the moment they are the main introduction that most smokers get to vaping and it is only because they are inadequate that we then go looking for bigger and better PVs and Cartos.
Cigalikes are to Vaping as Roller Skates are to Motoring.

You must have gone from lots of nicotine to far less nicotine during that period. I must say, I admire your story and your attitude. I still can't let it go, how much time and money I wasted on E-Lites. I puffed on those little beggars for weeks trying to wean myself off fags and I just had craving after craving. I think there was probably a "golden moment" where if I'd gone Cold Turkey I might have made it. I don't think an E-Lite can ever stop someone smoking, unless they are on under 20 ultra-lights a day. If you did it with SkyCig, they're either better or you have amazing will-power. Well done.

Well said lobey. I also (somehow) managed to stop on a cig-a-like. What brought me here was realising that the carto = a pack of fags was rubbish and I needed to find a cheaper way..... And it would be cheaper if I could stop buying shiny things

I'm another that has SkyCigs to thank for getting me off my fag habit , cost me £15 from one of their promotions and although I only used them for a week it made me realise that perhaps there was finally a way to stop smoking . That led me to , purely by chance, to an amazing vendor ...Vape Escape ...4 months later and a few quid lighter I'm still off the fags but without SkyCigs I'd most probably still be smoking

It was in June that I started on skycigs for a month when I was also on fags. Gradually upping the use of the skycigs while cutting down on the fags.
I wasn't in any e-cig forums, didn't know they existed, but someone told me about Jacvapour and because I am an inquisitive bugger, I had dismantled a skycig carto and realised that I could refill them with e-juice.
So for the last week of that month I was using 18mg Menthol from Jacvapour and and finding the skycigs okay.
Crunchtime came the night of the 9th of July when it was raining cats and dogs, I had ran out of fags and the shop on the other side of the village green was just too far to make a dash for it. I have not had a fag since.
Skycigs and Jacvapour juice got me through until near the end of July when I bought the VE Vision 1000 kit from Vape Escape and I have carried on from there although that is what I still use when out and about.
I am now an OAP and I had my first fag in Primary School so I have been at it a long time. I have also stopped smoking many times and then gone back on them. The last time I stopped for 18 months. So being "stopped" this time for 5 months is no big deal. The bit for me is that I could just never stay stopped. So if I can Vape for 19 months, then THAT will be my big deal!!!
I have no intention of stopping Vaping ever. With all the NRT on the market, anybody can stop smoking. It is the staying stopped after you come off the NRT that is seldom statistically researched and when they do, the facts show a very low success rate.
I am not vaping because I prefer it to smoking cigarettes. E-juices do not, yet, taste the same as fags. However they are better than fags in many other respects, like my health and my wealth and, at the moment anyways, these two far outweigh the taste of fags. The fact that I don't need to double check every ashtray in the house before going to bed at night, that I haven't burned a hole in any of my shirts for the last 5 months, that the wife hasn't moaned at the smell in the house and I haven't had to vacuum the fag ash out the keyboard are all just bonus's.
All that started with a Skycig Kit that I think cost £12 odds on a special offer. The best 12 quid I ever spent in my life.

I'm no expert on anything to do with fags, nicotine, NRT, whatever, but from what I read some people are coming to the conclusion that nicotine addiction is permanent; it cannot be reversed...you can only make the decision to not do/take it and get used to the consequences. Any return to nicotine (one fag...) will simply put you straight back.... apparently... Your story is an inspiration..
