PS - I took a JacVapour V3 to the shopping mall today. While my family were shopping, on 3 occasions I stood outside with the smokers (there are a LOT, I tell you.....). Amazing the lack of public (smokers) awareness. Most commonly, people asked why my e-cig was black and they all have tried the "white ones from the stall inside, which are rubbish" (apparently....I'm saying nothing.....)
Interestingly, I actually feel sorry for the guy on the stall. He says he is beginning to make some money, but the mall only attracts people from my/our town. People do not come like they would to the Trafford Centre in Manchester.
Everyone knows he's there, but nobody is buying.....
He won't make it long term, nor will his product; but as you say, for us, trying out these products has been the catalyst to something much better.

I know a number of people who have tried the cigalikes, not liked them and gone back on the fags. I don't think that was any fault of the cigalikes though. I didn't particularly like cigalikes either, but I persisted because I was looking for an alternative to fags.
I had already come across the benefits of vaping through using an Iolite, a pipe for vaping ground up tobacco (and other well known herbal concoctions!!!!!) and ofcourse I knew about flavoured tobaccos used basically in Hookah Pipes.
So all sorts of little scraps of knowledge, some quite unrelated, all came together when I came across E-cigs and E-juice.
So it was wanting to find a better alternative to smoking cigarettes that pushed me to look for something better than cigalikes. Those that try these and then go back to smoking, do so because they are just trying them, not because they they are looking for an alternative to cigarettes.
I've now smoked for over 55 years and in all that time I have never been all that interested in how cigarettes were made, how the different tobaccos were grown or blended, how the cigarette paper was made or indeed how fags were made, packaged or taxed.
Yet in 5 months of vaping, I have learned how different PV systems work, how to make my own atty's, how to make my own e-juice and store it, bottom coils, wicks, top coils, ohms, volts, tanks, clearos, cartos..............it goes on and on and my head is fair bursting with vaping knowledge and I still have a long way to go.
But perhaps that is all part of the fascination of vaping. Who wants to just go into a shop and buy a box of cigalikes the same as a packet of fags? Surely the whole excitement of vaping is that we can make and tweak our own units to produce our very own "Perfect Vape".

Very wise in your answer lobey. I to started on look a likes but it was e-lights. Yes they are over priced, yes they don't last long and the carto are to be honest pants. But what they have on there side is that they have popped up all over. If it wasn't for them and a chest infection from hell I would still be smoking. But what they do is to get you started on e-cigs and vaping. When I used them I knew that there was something there but they were not quite what I needed. Then I searched the net and came across digi-smoke and ended here

Yes, apologies for getting off the field of play dowden. I can't comment on the merchandise of SkyCig, but most of these brands do sell the cheapest, worst performing stuff (batteries and chargers particularly) Since there's nobody to stop them making disingenuous claims about their products, and they happily stand by those claims on their websites (for example E-Lites had some of my reviews removed for "telling it how it was"), only customer satisfaction and internet pressure will ever get them to treat customers properly.

Ditto apologies for wandering off topic slightly It's actually hard to tell if I'd have been able to stay stopped on the cig-a-like I had. I went looking for forums/advice when I realised that after 3 months of using it, I was starting to feel I might fall off the wagon. The difference between what I have now and the cig-a-like is like night and day - plus I know I can stay stopped, because the quality of kit I have now is so superior.

I think the point has got lost somewhere,i have not smoked since i started vaping with skycig and now other items, but the merchandise and the customer is substandard. I'm not sure I understand how the customer can be substandard, but as far as the Skycig goes, well I still have mine and would use it if I was going somewhere where I knew I couldn't (or shouldn't) vape but I wanted something small just to slip into my pocket and use for a sly vape. Ofcourse I would fill it with my own e-juice and a couple of batteries and a couple of cartos would see me through an evening. Yes, with any e-cig you can get duff batteries and chargers, but Skycig will replace faulty goods. And yes, I could use a keyring type e-cig for a sly vape, but I already have the skycig kit and it is still working 5 or 6 months down the line. When I first came across a cigalike, it was a Skycig. It could just as easily been another make of cigalike, but it happened to be the Skycig. Apart from one duff battery (I bought two extra), I thought it was brilliant. In reality, it was only a stepping stone to bigger and better things and that is probably the route that 95% of vapers follow. I understand why, having had a bad experience with Skycig, that you think they are useless, but many vapers initially get off the cigarettes with the aid of Skycig and the like and have good experiences with them. One bad experience does not condemn the whole system.

Meant to say customer service sorry,if it was just one bad experience i would agree but there have been numerous, they seem to reply to emails with a standard answer sheet and if you are delayed in answering they close the case, sorry but they are rubbish regardless of the fact they helped me to start vaping.

Are SkyCig better than E-Lites? I just wonder. The E-Lite battery is just lame....and the cartos have such high resistance almost nothing comes out. That's why you can get close to 400 puffs. I managed 360-ish one day. If you inhaled the vapour (for the prescribed 1.5 seconds), almost nothing came out... thinking about it...let me go and test... 2 minutes later..... In reality next to nothing goes in either.

I must admit, I was far from happy about their complicated palavver regarding how I had to go about getting my duff battery changed and compared to the service I get from the Vendors I now buy my e-cig kit from, Skycigs service dept deserves a good kick in its posterior.
