ok, so the last couple of weeks have been a nightmare, my router gave up, then my phone died, and now the keyboard on my laptop has gone, i am not happy.
New router arrived yesterday, and as i was due a phone upgrade, i went into norwich yesterday to get that sorted, now to get my laptop sorted, which apparently is going to sting me for about £50

Welcome back to the land of the virtual. Sorry you've had technical problems & there was me thinking you'd gone on a wonderful Caribbean Xmas holiday.

Gothic, to get you by till a less expensive time of the year, why not buy a cheap keyboard (with USB connection) & plug that into your laptop?

lol a nice cruise would be welcome right now.
I have just invested in a 2nd router, much better than the thing orange provided.
I will have to dig out a usb keyboard, the laptop will be going in for repair monday, so phone and tablet for a couple of days.

normally i would do all my own repairs, but hate working on laptops as everything is so small and fiddly, with this id rather give it to someone who has insurance incase further damage is done. The most i do on laptops is ram upgrades, changing wifi cards and hard drives, anything else goes to my mates shop.

Laptop keyboards are often very easy to replace, easier than you could possibly imagine. It does not involve stripping anything else off except maybe the trim around it and the base does not need to come off. If you do a search on youtube for your laptop model there is sure to be a video of someone stripping one and reassembling it.
