Newbie alert! I was just wondering why some people advocate trimming the wicks in clearomizers? What would you gain from doing this? Cheers

In theory, a good wick will suck up liquid from the bottom of the tank it's in. However, wicks in most clearos don't actually do such a great job and need some "assistance" with tilting/swooshing/wand-waving...... If you're going to do this anyway, you don't need such long wicks. Therefore..... I don't know.....

Some vapers I * think * seem to feel that shorter wicks don't use as much eliquid. I'm happy with the longer ones myself.

In that case I'll leave my wicks long, I'm happy with plenty of juice.

The longer the wick, the longer the time befor you have to swoosh imo

Shorter wicks = more room in the tank = more juice ???

Some wicks take time to break in, they have a funky taste to them for a while before it clears so less wick = shorter funky taste. In. Vision clearos it really makes little difference because the juice swooshes about so much that the wicks get well fed. In novas and the like, the wick only really needs to touch the side walls because again the constant movement from hand to mouth causes swishing and as juice runs down the wall of the tank the wick mops it up. Otherwise , you need wick to be long enough to make contact with your juice resoviour Now fluffing the wicks is a whole new ball game
