Agreed that the manufacturers and suppliers need to alter their wording (if they havent already)...

perhaps we can play our part by boycotting any supplier who claims they are quitting aids?

BUT the general community (and many of the suppliers) have already been making the claims... surely the powers that be can drag up old threads and old advertisements to use as evidence?

They could do that, Blue, but what would hold up better in court, that the users and suppliers claim that e-cigs are stop smoking products, or that users and suppliers USED to claim that e-cigs are stop smoking products, but don't anymore.

If it will benefit us, we can admit that we were "wrong". LOL

The MHRA (and the FDA) are currently in a period of "research" so they can do their level best to cane us in 18 months time - they are looking to find anything that can compromise what we currently have. The thing about all of this is that it's really arrant nonsense on behalf of all governments. It's nanny state gone mental. My personal belief is that, as an adult, I'm responsible for my own wellbeing, and, should I decide I'd like to eat sandwiches of rabid fox droppings and leaves from the cannabis plant, it's my business and nobody else's. Unfortunately, government tends to like to control things, and therefore is almost deciding how we must think.

So, unfortunately, we are left in a position where we need to modify our vocabulary somewhat in order not to give them the fuel they need to burn us. Orwell had everything but the year right...

I do agree that due to the pending TW/FDA action, TW have to be careful what they say. But & a big but....

........ IMHO we have lost the battle if e-cig users have to say they are still smoking!

Rusty if they're going to 'shag' (for what of a better word) us, it won't matter what words we use, what gameplay we go by or what funding we have................sadly big brother has all the power, we are little pawns and have absolutely zero.

What we really need is a Mel Gibson on our side, some ultra power player who has enough dosh to not worry about anything other than what they believe in, alternatively we need a miracle.

We're in the midst of a mini war, we're wanting to help people to quit the analogues and showing them a healthier way to quave their addiction, unfortunately this has led to us becoming more 'high profile' and in such offending those that have all the power (tobacco companies) The sad reality is that there are companies out there who want to make multi zillion pound businesses out of ecigs, they want to put this product on the map, if they didn't we would all be very safe in our secluded world of ecigness.

By trying to take ecigs out of the little trend and into a major player they are taking on the big boys and taking the risk of killing it altogether, which without major financial backing is suicidal.

I'm talking from experience of small time miracle works. I used to wholesale body building supplements and apparel. There was a fantastic product appeared on the market, a product that was medically approved and worked if taken correctly. I used this product myself and found it amazing so sold it on to my gyms. The product was GHB, it was fantastic, burned body fat whilst you had the most amazing night's sleep possible - but then the alter affects started to show, it was also the date rape drug. After the first case of date rape was attributed to this product I never sold another tub.

There was a rock band on a radio station last year, I can't remember who it was, but they were called for 'smoking' on set, the lead replied 'i'm not smoking' it was a ecig. I so darn wish I could remember which band! We need to find High profile vapers, they'll give us more clout than anything else.
