The peregrines are long lost to the skies Here is the osprey nest - the "chicks" (who are as big as their parents but look like day-old chicks sometimes) are due to fledge any day. They've been "wingercising" but haven't reached the necessary heights yet, I'm told. They should be "helicoptering" first. www.carnyx.tv/CarnyxWild/WildlifeCameras/Scotland.aspxTore = f Bynack = m Here's Tore wingercising yesterday: I'm not sure whether they've been keeping me sane or driving me mad - the anxiety, and then the stress of trying to capture meaningful pictures and video, and finding free progs to edit the video... I can't take it any more I shall miss them so much! scylla x

Here's the 2 "juvies" (cos they're too old to be "chicks" apparently) battling over a fish - having just started feeding themselves. But since then mum EJ has done a standard feed until they settled down - she's a wonderful mum.
See how Tore nabs Bynack's foot instead of the fish, that's what most of the screeching is about.

Thanks Scyll - couldn't help a LoL when Bynack nearly fell over when his foot was finally released!! I tried your link ^^^^^ there #465 It was the one I couldn't get into before. This time though, I decided to download microsoft Silverlight as requested and tried to register but it needed a company name and details etc, which I couldn't give. So couldn't register!!! Anyway, I am very happy with your little vids - don't give up yet please. MM xx

That must have hurt the poor thing so much!! All three eaglets are up in their windy tree again today - they seem very reluctant to leave for good. There are some great pics on Raptorresource's Facebook page of them flying around the local area, landing and back up in their tree again. It's so nice to see these instead of just the nest area. They look wonderful in the wing! www.facebook.com/pages/Raptor-Resource-Project/103786266324668?sk=wall#Fox

You don't have to register, MM - I think that's for companies who want their own videos handled by the site ??? Once you've got Silverlight it should display fine Then you can make the screen bigger by using Ctrl+scroll, and centralise it, so you only have a bit of the peripheral stuff showing. Here's another tug o' war, only short: Foxy, lovely pics of the eagles! I particularly appreciated the shots of the first hatchling being fed, they really showed the brilliant gentleness of the huge parent. I didn't find any video though but that could be because I've just eaten my burnt dinner and am tired and disgruntled scylla xx

TORE FLEDGED @ 08:42am TODAY - and I captured it!!! It was the biggest shock in the world, but I was watching and something about her told me to hit Record. No-one was expecting it yet. Poor little Bynack is bewildered, but breakfast arrived less than 2 hours later. scylla x

Well captured scylla!! Speaking of 'captured,' the Dacorah eaglet, E2 (female), has been caught, banded, had a transmitter fitted and has been released : Fox PS: It's hoped that both E1 and E3 will also be banded and have transmitters fitted if possible. Raptorresource assures us that there is no evidence of any harm befalling banded eagles nor of the transmitters causing problems - the transmitter is designed to fall off by itself after a couple of years.

How's this for a cool racecar? www.sponsafier.com/#/gallery/view/22549Click on the left hand, 3D, button at the bottom and you can scroll around on the car and take a look at that super paint job. The pictures are all from this year's Dacorah Eagle family. This is an image showing the eaglet, D1 (Dacorah Satellite 1) that has been banded and a transmitter fitted so that her progress can be tracked. This transmitter will drop off by itself in two to three years, before the bird is fully mature. Her trapping and the added 'bling' hasn't caused her any problems at all; she seems completely unaware of her new 'backpack.' Fox

Thanks, Foxy! I'm very familiar with those kind of squits thanks to the osprey chicks Now, a BIG FANFARE - BYNACK FLEDGES Saturday 16 July. Bynack is a day earlier, age wise, than his sister was. He loves to take short flights and celebrate on returning to the nest. Or he did, he's spending more time in the trees now. scylla x
