Bugger! Thanks for the heads up macca - no sign of any wear on mine yet, but better safe than sorry - another spare Vivi tank . Like everyone, I was really enjoying this. The Kayfun mini is better though All stainless steel and probably holds as much juice - only problem is it cost me nearly £90 delivered from Digital Steam! A bit more expensive now as they only seem to have the full kit version (two tanks etc.) They are supposed to be getting them soon in their UK store which would save a bit on postage. The V3 is massive and the new version of that is due very soon, but you are probably looking at about £150 for that in full kit form. What I particularly liked about the Dream was that it was in between the mini and the V3 in diameter. If they would produce on in SS I'd definitely get one.

Dave, are you happy with the Kayfun and do you think it was worth the money? I am seriously thinking of getting the Mini.
Cheers

Macca have you brought this up with the manufacturer? They need to be doing a mass recall on all of these, something as stupid as this could lead to a serious incident and a nice bit of ammo for the anti vaping lobby

I have only used mine a few times and indeed the coil that it came with is still in place.
I never thought to look inside the cone but I did last night and sure enough I can see the copper clearly.
A right shame but at least if gives me something to muck about with and I can always use it for dripping, without the cone, until I bugger it up completely.

What worries me is that a google search shows just how many positive reviews there are for these, have to wonder just how many have been sold!

Thanks to deesigner for refunding me, very appreciated. I never used it at all in the end. Manufacturer needs to do a recall if there's a lot of these in circulation. Hopefully no one is made ill by them.

Surely they could make us some SS cones??I have asked this a few times already but no answers as of yet to my question whether another cone will fit these off another atty??Surely someone could make us some??I would be willing to buy one as this is an awesome atomiser, why oh why did they choose to use such a hazardous material like copper >

Fantastic idea Des,would this work and sort the issue 100% with the cone?If so then count me in if we can find someone to do it.I love this atomiser so much that i would most definately be up for this IF it resolves the serious hazard to our health.Great thinking that is Des.

I'm not aware of another cone being able to fit these, nothing cheaply available has a similar design. Gold plating is possible yeah, and with that material it would likely last. Scott has mentioned it on his videos, I believe he gold plated the Bulli. Although thinking on the cost of that (I don't know how much) and if your that keen, maybe its worth putting that money towards a Kayfun. After all its their innovation everyone has been enjoying. I suspect that design is what is giving the quality result. I know there really expensive, I couldn't splash the cash on one tomorrow, and not always available but...

I've been alternating between the mini and the Spheroid for weeks now and I think they are both about as good as it gets for silica wick tank atties. Most of the price difference is postage at the moment, so yes I do think it is worth the money.

As the cone is a small component I would hope the cost of electroplating would not be that high. I can't afford a "real" kayfun ATM.

Great stuff, well if anyone else wants it doing then why don't we arrange something and split the cost?Cant see it costing that much for a few small cones :-/but i could be wrong.I will be honest enough to admit that i can't afford a kayfun rite now,if I had the dosh then i would without hesitation.
