mornin all. havin read thorugh this forum now for a week or 2 i notice a lot of people are usin rebuildable stuff. just how easy it is to do and how much room for failure and destroyin either the rebuildable or the device it screws into ? ive watched plenty of videos on rewickin on here and youtube and it seems easy enough. what would be advtantages of rebuildables over disposables and do you have a rebuildable for each flavour you have. a lot of questions and variables i know but unfortunatly im prone to runnin out and buyin the first thing i see which is usually the wrong one to get and i either get put off or spend more than i had to gettin it right cheers for ya help

Rebuildables give you lots more options for your coils, you're not stuck with either LR or standard resistance you can change the coils to suit yourself. They also work out far cheaper in the long run as the cost of wire and wick is minimal

Hi Rybes, Doing coils and rewicking will have a lot to do with your age and dexterity of your fingers. Whilst I like to think that I can still do those things that I enjoyed in my 30's and 40's, just watch me trying to put a coil on a wick and you'd think I was a dottily old fool.
I need reverse tweezers, super strong glasses and a combined headband magnifier. Okay, I get there in the end, but what takes Todd of Todds Reviews 5 mins and working first time, takes me an hour and 3 wasted attempts.
But I don't do my own coils to save money. I do them for the satisfaction of vaping on something that I have constructed myself.
Good coiling to you.

Hi Rybes, you could try rebuilding a wick & coil on the vivi nova and see how you get on, but you will need a multimeter to check the ohms.

If you don't want the complication of oxidising mesh wicks there are several tank RBA's that you can use FG wick in - the Aga range for instance. There is a todd video on doing it. Personally I prefer the dripping types (like the one Perpy linked to) as I think they perform better. You can usually get at least 20 drops of liquid in them so they last quite a while before you need to top them up.

What is an FG wick? What are ohms, and what difference do they make?
Thanks, Rybes, for starting this thread because I've been wondering whether to try rebuildables. It sounds very complicated.

im guessin FG is fibre glass and ohms is a measure of resistance on wires. think of a wire as a hose pipe a bigger hose lets more water throu and a smaller one slows it down. if im right, the bigger the number the more current it draws from the battery. if im not right, someone will be along soon to put me right lol no probs for startin the thread glad it can help someone else too

Sounds good to me and I think I understand. So, would lower ohms be better because the battery would last longer? I think this thread might help anyone like me who is technically challenged but would like to try diy.

Lower ohms will give you more throat hit and vaper, but will run your battery down quicker than higher ohms/resistance

see, told ya someone would put me right lol. makes sense tho. takes more power to force the same current throo a smaller pipe.

If you want a tank and you don't want to burn stuff with mesh this is a pretty good option - bulli-smoker.de/index.php?a=67&lang=engIt's like a spheroid (hard to get and about £75) or a taifun (about the same but easier to get) but cheaper I've ordered one....If not try the cheap RBA - like a clone of the phoenix (saw somewhere today someone had one for £3.50) or like a vivi nova... But now I've got my taifun I'm so sorted you would not believe
