Just to be sure... on the SS version the top piece and the first joint below the button are push fit ?

If so i'll take mine apart and use some JB Weld, perfect for this kind of job. Will have a look at the connector too while it's apart.

They are meant to be press fit which is very tight , my top piece was very tight and difficult to get off, not tried to get the lower part off although I did give it a good pull to see if it would come off, no chance of that.
