Fairly good article but I still feel slightly angry at Dr Vivienne Nathanson. Don't know the effects, but the mouth sprays are fine even though they contain the same ingredients plus a few extra thrown in. If the spray is fine then why isn't the e cig ? While I agree the contents of the liquid should be regulated, asking for them to be removed from sale is stupidity - only remove the stuff that hasn't been tested from source to sale.
EDIT: Cleggy Weggy should snaffle himself a Vamo/Zmax/Tesla along with a lovely genesis and just keep going.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21406540It looks like vaping could get a lot more expensive. At least they mention both sides. If they were that bothered about health - smoking would have been made illegal years ago. Good article I thought on the whole. Thanks for pointing it out.

''So are e-cigarettes safe?
"The simple answer is we don't know," says Dr Vivienne Nathanson from the British Medical Association (BMA)''
From the legal point of view she is just barking mad.
When you legalize something. how can you ban it few years later without a single piece of evidence?

They don't know if e cigarettes are safe? So does that mean that they do know that tobacco cigarettes are?
Not rocket science is it.

Same bonkers quack that's quoted in the BMA article. *sigh* STILL overall the article is pretty positive. It's a pity they used lookalikes only in the TV feature, which compounds the "looks like smoking" argument. My e-Go has been mistaken for a pen, an epi-pen, a small truncheon (by my GP!), but never a cigarette..

The slot on BBC breakfast was pretty good actually. Even handed and the follow up on the sofa stated as fact that e cigs don't cause cancer or heart disease. Very valid point that if e cigs were taken off the shelves one million people would start smoking again. Obviously the BMA stance is standard " we don't know" that's what they have to say to protect against future litigation. Overall though, very positive.

Posted in the other thread.
What I find funny is that none of them have ever visited this forum or any other e-cig forum, then they'd see we are all alive and well and vaping daily to put their minds at rest. If e-cigs are so dangerous they should be more regulated than tobacco it would be nice for them to come and have a chat with us to show us they care.
Unless of course, if they are just puritans who are hell bent on stamping out "evil" drugs and don't want anything to question their unshakable belief that they are all doing what's best for us. That might explain why they refuse to have any form of discussion with vapers themselves.
