Yeah, I hope you all didn't mind me bringing this to everyones attention. The problem was, because of the cramped area, the lateness of the eventual start of the evening & raffle & the way everyone was spread out, I think a lot of people missed out on seeing the prizes & who actually donated them. Poor dolly's daughter had a big, sealed cardboard box plonked on her lap & I think she felt a bit embarrassed to open it, so just put it aside. I happened to see it occur & went over to her, armed with Ash's knife, opened the box & extracted the 2 Mod Holders, so that she & anyone sitting with her, could actually see what she had won. The contents were actually meant to be removed from said sealed box before the raffle. A lot of work went into it & I just felt it a shame that she had no idea who donated it or what it was..........

Not at all, I am very glad that you did bring it to our attention. It absolutely deserves to be known about. Fair play to you Chris.

@ashmal did you donate the ds cases & battery holders then ? If so that was very nice of you, thank you. I think it should have been made clear who had donated each prize.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I won 5 x 10ml of juice from UKEcigs - very happy about that! My mate James actually won the pink ds case, I think - but being a non vaper (only came along to keep me company, but ended up having a great evening) he passed it to someone - I forget who! Huge thanks to all who donated raffle prizes - I'll see if I can find something to include next time

It all ended up a bit haphazard & rushed Julie, because of the venue cock up. Not Alan's fault, but again, lessons learnt & the next one will be different hopefully.

and then she thought "I've won a toothbrush holder ??" Shame she has dentures......bit of a waste really.............. I shall be telling her you said that Ginger, James gave me the pink case, then Carrie suggested we could swap because she only has minimal amounts of vape stuff as she only recently started using it, whereas my husband and I have loadsof stuff crammed into a biscuit tin. Perfict solution.

I think that the most important lesson that we need to have learnt from saturday is that if we ever have to change venues at short notice in future that someone updates the thread. I don't use the internet on my phone so it didn't even occur to me at the time; but because nobody updated the thread after the second venue change it meant that newukvaper84 couldn't find us and I feel really bad about that. I don't mean this as a critisism to anyone in particular and I am just as much to blame for the oversight as any of us.

On a more serious note, it would have been handy to have alan's &/or elfish's mobile numbers when we all got split up. Maybe grab them at some stage before the next meet......Just in case.........."Be prepared"......that's what they taught us in the Girl Guides......
