Another Carto filling question.

Thank you Figgis, it's definitely working for me so far. When the kit arrived this morning I had just rolled a smoke and had a few drags. It's still in the ashtray and I haven't touched it or any other smokes all day.
So far vaping is satisfying my cravings. May it long continue.

It's great is vaping. Not for everyone and there will be bumps in the road which you do have to ride out (I still after a month have some cravings for a tab after a few beers).

But what amazes me is how the flavours work. I'm sat here watching a film, having had a 4-pack of beers and I'm vaping Egg-Custard Tart ! I used to be out at every advert break whilst watching a film and have a rollie, now I'm vaping Egg-Custard Tart !

I really hope it does the same for you mate. Every person on this forum has been through the same thing and it makes this place fantastic.

Haha at Egg Custard Tart & Beer, going to have to try a custard one as your not the first to mention them to me and seems to love it.

The thing with smoking and drinking is I'm quite odd that way. The first two pints I can smoke like a train, after two though I hardly smoke at all.

I remember cartos and getting it right. Best not to guess how much liquid you have used, as a 5ml bottle is unlikely to be full to the top, and judging "down" from there is not easy.

Most cartos (the sort I used) probably took about 1 and a bit ml on the first fill up. Not all bottles drip the same amount of liquid, but i.i.r.c. if it looked full on only 15/16/17 drops, it probably wasn't.

The only carto I killed instantly was filled up using the condom method. It was a thick liquid and seemed to be pooling on the top of the filler, so I thought I was done ???. Since then, when I use them, I drip 8 drops in the tiny hole at the battery end, then turn it over and do at least 12 (?) at the other. Then I let it sit for a while....

Out of interest how many hits would you get from 1ml for example? does that also depend on the juice, carto and e-cig used?

I've been happily vaping all day and not needed a refill yet.

Mark, I'd suggest the carto you're using will be getting on it's last legs and needing a refill by now !! The danger with cartos (or clearos for that matter) is vaping them too low before refiling - with a carto you're in danger of burning the wadding/filler material and then the carto will be wrecked. Condom method is most reliable for a decent fill, but once it has filled, it's best if you can leave them to stand for 10+ mins before use. And remember to blow it through to remove excess juice from the air shaft before popping it on your battery

1ml would last me half a day, but you are correct, it depends on the particular kit/juice combination you use.......

Just refilling now as I did notice a drop off in flavour before going to bed last night. I used the condom method yesterday too and seem to be getting on ok with the method.

Back on the clearo this morning and the Caramel Tabac doesn't taste so bitter today.

Hi Mark, and well done on the start to your vaping journey! I don't use cartos any more, preferring my Novas or clearomisers, but in the early days I did try them for a couple of weeks. I made the fatal mistake of chugging on it until it dried out and tasted burnt, and then it was knackered
It would be better to top it up occasionally rather than waiting until it's too late.
You will find that as your taste buds emerge from their tobacco-enforced hibernation juices will change flavours almost daily. I have some juice which I first tried in the first week, and they now taste completely different.
Remember to keep drinking water to keep you hydrated, and cleaning your teeth regularly helps here too.

Hi Andy and thank you for the advice. I've been looking around noticed Novas mentioned but not entirely sure what they are yet, are they like a self built carto or clearo?

I have one clearo that's filled with caramel tabac and it does taste nicer today than yesterday, but still not a patch on the Old Holby. As you and others have said though, that can and most likely change along with my taste buds.

Can I ask you and anyone else who cares to answer how many ml's of juice you vape on average per day?

Mark, Andy & Gunjack are right, you need to keep the cartomisers topped up.

I used to be a very heavy smoker, so I vape a lot & I reckon I get through about 5ml a day.

I don't think I did the carto any damage yesterday as the flavour was quite strong right up until the last few drags before I went to bed. Topped up the same carto this morning and all seems to be working well.

I guess that's one of the advantages of using a clearo as you can see exactly how much juice you are vaping.
