Very nice GT there my friend. Nope unfortunatly I only have the new 7 series 1.8VVTiL. As much as I would love the four I just wouldnt be able to afford the fuel bills. My one is bad enough, 32mpg usual use and around 14/17mpg when spanking it about in the variable valve (VTEC) range. Lucky you, i only get 23 mpg out of my BMW and that is with the other half driving it like Miss daisy. Ouch!! not good. bet she has a big motor under the bonnet?. I didnt really mind back a few years ago, but now I have two little ones to think about so cant really go for the big motors. I am a right petrol head tho, LOVE motorbikes (to the hate of the other half) and my compramise was, FINE you want me to get rid of the bikes then I get a car I can have a little passion with Not the chavy style "done up cars" but more for tinkering with the engine and possibly making the inside a bit more flashy. I LOVE the looks of the celica.... poor mans ferrari hehe

BHP was tested on a rolling road and came out at a shade over 400bhp at the wheels and 0-60 was 5.6 I wouldn't mind a motorbike, not got a license for a proper one though, even if I did I know I'd die pretty quickly lol.

off topic I know. (PS will reply to PMs as can. If you have not had a reply please wait untill around 7.30pm when I get home)
The crazy thing is. I can go out today buy a practically brand new Suzuki GSXR 1000 RR (Road Race) and only pay £370 for fully comp insurance with 15,000 miles a year allowance. So that is a 190+ MPH super bike. with my 5 years no claims bonus on bikes.
Now to cars.
I passed my test last March 16th. Brought a 2005 1.6 TDCI ford focus (Diesel) and that cost me the cheapest insurance £2400ish for the year. or basically £300 deposit and £202 a month direct debit. For a god dam 100mph TOPS 90bhp car. Thankfully this celica after my one year NCB will drop to £939 fully comp so not so bad but still crazy for a 1.8k car!!. My down side is I am only 23 (nearly 24) so untill I am 25 I will pay top price. I could understand if I was living at home boy racer style but I work full time have two kids and married and have a house to pay for so I am not going to chuck it away racing lol. Theiving (insert word of choice here)stards....

I think the law has just changed or about to change regarding bike tests and what cc can and cannot be ridden on what licence. Nice idea though. PS. Jake, sorry your thread has been dragged out talking about car, bikes and insurance.

I wanted to take test but other half was working at BT at the time and panicked on every bike incident she got in local area,so asked me not to have another Bike, but agreed to any trike, will admit have had loads of fun on them,as for comment oh you get stuck in traffic,in towns maybe ,but who buys a bike just to ride in town? good part about them is "There SEEN" and most get out the way when they see axel with big tyres,a lot stop to let you go so they can look at it
downside -gnats fly bees and wasps hurt when you get hit on forehead lol taste 'orrible to
pass test under 21 restricted bhp 40 i think over 21 direct access to anything regardless of cc
125cc 17+ on passing CBT

Is this AAEC or exchange and mart? Oh come on, it's just a harmless bit of chat that finished hours ago.
