Hi people, still going good 5 weeks off the cigs and can't believe how easy it is. I started making my own juice, loving the fruit flavours and menthol mixes. Just bought the vivi nova stv tank and plinth to fit my ego batteries and running the 1.8ohm coil producing loads of vapour. I've been looking at various accessories and get the gist of atomisers and cartomisers but what's the pro's and con's of each please?

The atomiser is the thing at the top of your vivi nova that screws in and has two wicks hanging out of it. It heats the e-juice when a current is supplied to turn it into vapour you then inhale.
In the 'olden days' the atomiser screwed onto the battery, and a cartridge containing a filler (think cotton wool) soaked in e-juice slotted over the end. The filler contacted with the atomizer and juice gets gradually wicked up the filler as you use it.
This is pretty much(*) obsolete nowadays as the 'cartomiser' was introduced, which is just an atomiser and cartridge permanently connected together.
You're vivi nova is a Clearomiser (Clearo) which came later still. Because it's clear, you can tell how much juice you have left**. In addition, some people do not like the 'taste' of the filler material in cartos. The disadvantage's with clearo's are wicking issues and also leaking (through the mouthpiece, onto battery etc). Carto's don't leak, wick consistently and are not vulnerable to being oriented upside down / shaken.
* Atomisers are still used to 'drip' a couple of drops of ejuice on - mainly to sample new flavours, or by purists as this is the cleanest taste.
** In fact carto's can be modified so you can see the Juice level by using 'Tanks'. These are simple clear plastic tubes which go round the carto, which you then fill with juice - so they constantly refill the carto.
Ps, I use a Vivi Nova like yours, and I love it.

What Gary said. Dripping is intense, loads more flavour and a metric ****ton more vapour than using a tank. But also a pain in the backside, you only put 3-4 drops in and when it runs out mid draw... well let's just say it's the nastiest taste this side of inhaling smoke from a burning mesh atomiser. Nasty as hell.
I still love dripping though.
