I picked up a great tip for cleaning atomiser/ battery connections or contacts. I got one of these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fibre-Fiber-Pen-Fibreglass-Abrasive-Circuit-Contact-Cleaning-Pen-5-Refills-/130715069990Dipped in Isopropyl alcohol it is brilliant for these routine bits of maintenance and even brings brass contacts up like new. Great for getting round all the bits of a 510 connection and much better than my previous methods involving alcohol wipes and tissues! Highly recommended if, like me, you have never come across these before.

Wouldn't a cotton bud dipped in IA do the same job? I'm not sure, it seems a good idea, if a bit pricey.
There must be something laying around the house that would do the same job?
Edit, how about a cut off bit of the scratchy green bit of a scouring pad glued to a cotton bud, or something similar?

sounds a bit expensive to me buying one of them just to clean your contacts , I find a cotton bud does a nice job and alot cheaper to.

Yep, I've got through dozens of cotton buds and all sorts of other things. The thing about this is that it is stiff as well as absorbing IPA - I won't have to disassemble things and sand them down any more as well. Given the 5 re-fills I was happy to pay £6.99 for something that would do all the jobs like this I want to do for I guess some years to come But hey, each to his own
