Strange smell?

I heard there are a couple of things that can cause that "wet dog" smell, 1 of them was "esters" in the flavourings that can react with water & hydrolyze into organic acids...sounds like your juice has gone bad, probably not harmful but quite unpleasant to vape.

I read on UKV about a couple of people that had problems with the Liberro pipe dying / switch sticking not long after the warranty ran out and liberro refusing to help as they classed them as disposable products...I also heard that you can only use the Liberro cartomizers in them so you're pretty much locked into buying the overpriced ones from Liberro.

I would do some research on e-pipes before jumping in to the Liberro one, you're better off with one that can take standard size cartomizers.

Thank you Adam for all the info. At list I'm not gonna die(yet) puffing some chines brewed juice.
About pipes I've done a bit of digging with a google spade and I've found some info, but like Ewol said earlier is not available in Uk(yet).

I'm sure there are loads of people happy with the Liberro pipe but the proprietary cartomizer would put me off...I get my Eskimo "all day vape" from them using the ECR69 discount code for 20% off, so I like them for that (Decadent Vapours make it though)

I like some of the chinese juices Dekang/Hangsen make some quite nice ones, but the tobacco ones I got (dekang silver label) taste/smell like you describe..wet dog with a hint of ashtray. I don't know if they have gone bad or if that's just how they are meant to taste lol. I keep it around for emergencies.

They eat dogs, cats and turtles so... it's sort of understandable. Not being racist or anything, but we all know about their cuisine.
It's like curry or marmite: you love it or you hate it.

I've just made an experiment: I mixed few drops of whisky with one of the juices and it feels much better. At the moment...

Before you start knocking Chinese juice be aware that the vast majority of juice vaped comes from china, and most of it is made in factories that are as clean as pharmaceutical facilities.

yep and that's why the only Chinese juice I'll buy now is Dekang Siilver/Gold label, it comes factory sealed/shrink wrapped/tamper proof/anti bootleg-holographed etc so at least I know it hasn't been messed with or watered down since it left China.

quite impressive operation actually & good to know it's not being mixed up in someones bath-tub

I do not want to offend anyone.
It was just an opinion and it was based on what we all know about far east.
Nothing personal, but I think it's time to find a way to encourage the local commerce and not to buy everything from abroad.
Personally I would prefer to buy "things" MADE IN UK instead of made in any other country.

I don't know my ecig history, but, was it not a Chinese man who invented the ecig? So if it wasn't for the Chinese we wouldn't even have these wonderful devices.

Good luck finding things made in the UK. 99% of it is made in China, not just eliquid.

History

The earliest concept of an electronic cigarette can be traced to an idea by Herbert A. Gilbert,
who in 1963 patented a device described as "a smokeless non-tobacco
cigarette" that involved "replacing burning tobacco and paper with
heated, moist, flavored air." This device heated the nicotine solution
and produced steam. In 1967, Gilbert was approached by several companies
interested in manufacturing it, but it was never commercialized and
disappeared from the public record after 1967.

Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist, is widely credited with the invention of the first generation electronic cigarette. In 2000, he came up with the idea of using a piezoelectric ultrasound-emitting element to vaporize a pressurized jet of liquid containing nicotine diluted in a propylene glycol  solution.
This design produces a smoke-like vapor that can be inhaled and
provides a vehicle for nicotine delivery into the bloodstream via the
lungs. He also proposed using propylene glycol to dilute nicotine and
placing it in a disposable plastic cartridge which serves as a liquid
reservoir and mouthpiece. These inventions are the basis of the
present-day electronic cigarettes.

The device was first introduced to the Chinese domestic market in May
2004 as an aid for smoking cessation and replacement. The company that
Hon Lik worked for, Golden Dragon Holdings, changed its name to Ruyan (??, literally "Resembling smoking"), and started exporting its products in 2005–2006 before receiving its first international patent in 2007.

The second generation electronic cigarette, or modern electronic
cigarette, was invented and introduced to market in 2008 by Dr. Yunqiang
Xiu before receiving its international patents in 2009 & UK patent
in 2011.
The modern electronic cigarette featured the "tankomizer" (or sealed
tank system and sealed atomizer technology). This is more useful for
pharmaceutical and medical devices industries.

New Invention of 1963: The Smokeless Non-Tobacco Cigarette

Many people wonder about who actually invented the electronic cigarette.
Most don’t know, while others would claim it is Hon Lik from China. But
in 1963, Herbert A. Gilbert filed his patent on a smokeless non-tobacco
cigarette. Two years later his patent was accepted. The whole patent
issue becomes somewhat complicated when you consider new technology and
different designs, but what is clear is that 46 years ago Herbert
submitted the idea of a smokeless cigarette to the United States Patent
Office. Here is an excerpt:

“The present invention relates to a smokeless non-tobacco cigarette
and has for an object to provide a safe and harmless means for and
method of smoking by replacing burning tobacco and paper with heated,
moist, flavored air; or by inhaling warm medication into the lungs in
case of a respiratory ailment under direction of a physician.”

I don't really want to get into a debate over this, but there is a big difference between a concept and a working product.
