Nothing to do with the OP I've just read something on the 'net and it's concerning me. People with 'A weak or impaired immune system' should avoid using e cigarettes. It didn't give a reason though, which has annoyed me. www.e-cigs.co.uk/electronic-cigarette-faq.htmlI have anti-phospholipid syndrome and lupus, both illnesses cause a very low immune system. I get a lot of colds and other virus's and they last for a month or more rather than days or weeks as they do with 'normal' people. Though I'm more informed now about how to avoid catching a cold. I've gone off the subject a bit there! Does anyone know why people like me shouldn't use e. cigs? I looked for more info. but couldn't find any. Thank you in advance.

That's the first I have heard of that, Anne. Maybe they are just trying to protect themselves from lawsuits ?? I really don't know what to say, except that going back to cigarettes is not a good idea.

that list is pretty standard with anything and everything .....but one thing we know for sure is e-cigs are a hundred times better than analogues

You have aps and lupus too Nicky? Horrible isn't it. Feeling tired all the time, no energy, migraines, feeling too hot in summer, opposite in winter because of blood thinned by anti-coagulants and all that's only scratching the surface.

I don't care what they say, I'm not going back to smoking baccy, no way. And I'm not giving up vaping either. I often wonder if these so called 'experts' are just scaremongering.

It is Anne, my aps causes my blood to clot too much, i have to keep having it checked but when i was in hospital abroad last year is was scary because i didn't think they would understand but they were bril and kept giving me Heparin so all was well.
Winter is a nightmare with coughs and colds etc i spend most of it on antibiotics and steroids !!

Sorry, been watching TV! I had 2 mini strokes in 2002. The hospital were suspicious as I was too young to have strokes, so they did some tests and that was when it was diagnosed. I'm on warfarin, so have to keep having blood tests. I've become obsessed with keeping my hands clean. I wash them about once an hour and also use alcohol gel to kill virus causing bacteria. We get colds germs etc. mostly from hand to mouth/nose and don't even realise we're doing it. It's not 100% foolproof though as germs are airborne too, if someone coughs and sneezes, we breathe it in. A way around that is to breathe through your mouth for a few minutes until the germ spreading sneezer has gone. Virus bacteria can be everywhere on things we touch. Door handles, money, stair rails, lifts etc. The easiest place to catch germs is on public transport as there's no escape.

I know, i get really annoyed in work when people are coughing and sneezing around me because they will get over it in a few days meanwhile i'm suffering for weeks on end.

That's just plain thoughtlessness. They think as they've got a cold, why shouldn't everyone else be suffering too. They wouldn't think like that if they had to have it for so long. Shame though, as that's what they deserve for spreading their disgusting germs.

Tell me about it > but to be fair they give out warnings left right and centre so some people don't have any choice but to go to work.
