Are the ego-boards a scavenged item or purchaseable anywhere ? 'Re-cycled' out of knackered batteries. You can buy them. One place is here tinyurl.com/col3t3b .

Just received mine and well happy with it for the money.
Love it in mini mode too.
Need to get myself some protected batteries now.

Cheap but not that great when compared to other brands. Also need some protected 18350's and rarely seen Torchy with 18350's since I've been looking.

Cheers simate, weird as I never saw them when looking at his listings. At that price though I'll just get another pair of panny's from Fast Tech instead.

I'll risk it...batteries are batteries...all to be treated with care.
I think I got some IMR's a few week's ago off torchy and all IMR's are protected so why worry?

I have two 18350 IMR's from Moju Republic, but I called them today and they said they were not protected, just high drain. Is that the same difference? I hear what you are saying Johanino, but I don't have a clue what all this protected/unprotected is all about nor what it all means when it's actually explained to me. As someone who doesn't understand it, it just looks to me like a way of charging consumers for all sorts of batteries when surely in this day and age a battery could be made that did the lot. I'm just going on what has been advised and what I have read elsewhere. I want to be safe, not sorry. Oh and just like the last time I went looking for batteries it is doing my head in.
