Hi, I am looking for some advice please I am still fairly new to vaping and use Vision Ego Clearomisers, which I am happy with but I am finding that after a few uses and washing in luke warm water that a clear/white ring in the top is falling out (sure its a seal). Its not off the mouth piece. I know these are not meant to last forever but was hoping they would last a bit longer. I have thrown a few out over the past 3 months. Have looked at the rebuilable ones but dont think I could manage with anything small and fiddly. Is there anything I can do to make them last longer or could anyone recommend something else. I use Riva 1100mAh Batteries which I had in the kit and like I said I am happy with everything I have just need advice to keep the plastic ring in longer. Thank you

The ring which is like a flat washer is indeed a seal. It seals the metal top part to the end of the plastic tube. The better ego clearomisers have pips on the end of the tube to hold it in place. However you can sort the falling out quite easily. If you pull of the metal cap by rocking and gently pulling it then you can file/sand a slight bevel on the end of the tube. You need to slope it so the outside is lower then the inside and it becomes very slightly cone shaped. Hope you get my meaning. It does not need much of a slope. The sealing ring when compressed will now be forced outwards rather than inwards.
The rebuildable clearomisers are much better as less prone to the tube cracking at the base, also you can replace the atomiser heads with new ones which works out cheapaer than buying a whole new clearomiser every time the coil/wicks needs replacing.
Vision Viva Novas are really a lot better overall, and last longer, but they are a bit cumbersome looking on top of an ego battery but you do get used to it and it begins to look the norm. I did it for weeks after getting larger tanks.
For at home, I now have a Joyetech egoT mod 18650. Using the common 18650 battery they last a lot longer and are not outlansishly expensive. Initially you can charge using your ego chargers or you can buy a dedicated 18650 battery charger such as the Xtar WP2II.
Meanwhile for out and about the ego style clearomisers fit in your pocket/handbag better, but very quickly you get used to really massive mods and the egos feel tiny. Everyone is different in what they like best and what works for them so I am only suggesting as ideas for you. There are many on the forums who only think vaping is best with the biggest of shineys and largest of manly looking tanks with dual coils and an octopus of wicks, ignoring many get satisfaction from cigalikes at the other extreme.
Back to your ring falling out, if you find you still cannot get it to stay in, then there is no reason to not just glue the metal top to the tank to seal it that way instead. The mouthpiece/drip tip should have its own seal. Alternatively find another supplier where the rings do not fall out.

Hi iggy. Welcome to the forum. Great advice above.
+1 for the mini and viva novas. Great little bits of kit.

f.w.i.w. I don't use CE4 non-rebuildable clearos, not since my first one was ruined in minutes.....
I used the genuine Vision CE5s and have not experienced any problems at all with them, other than the one I dropped....
Not yet lost a ring either off the drip tip or around the top seal, which is what I'm guessing you are referring to.

oh, longevity doesn't seem to be an issue with CE5s either. I have some 6 month-old ones and they work as good as new, just like my mini novas and kanger T3s. Maybe I have had good luck. I don't personally see why a clearo with a replaceable atomiser head has to be seen as 100% "disposable". Sure, consider it as such, but I just wash them out and either replace or rebuild the coil.
I'm sure I have at least 10 clearomisers now.....not one of them is dodgy in a time-expired way, except for T3s which leak whilst in my vape case....and did so from day one.

I'm still using rebuildable clearos which I bought back in September 2012 - apart from the new atty heads, they are as good as the day I bought them. They have paid for themselves many times over now. Andy
