I recall reading recently about a problem someone had with the O-ring under the Vamo centre pin and they came up with a solution/easy fix for replacing the offending ring with one of better quality. I have searched and searched but cannot find it anywhere on the forum, obviously using the wrong search words. Could anyone point me it the right direction please as I have split my ring Thanks for any help. Neil

Splitting one's ring is never a good thing. Lol Sorry I can't be of any help but hopefully someone will be able to find the thread for you soon. I'd be lost without me vamo. Hope you get it fixed mate.

The problem will occur should any of my atties leak into the top cap, with the split, it could allow juice through to the electronics.

One way to get a replacement grommet is to take one out of a carto. Get a couple of pairs of pliers and semi crush the tube about a 3rd from the bottom (510 end) so it warps it enough to pull it apart from the 510 side then just pull all the inside off and then push the 510 pin out then the rubber grommet will just pop out.
I have done this to fix an eGo-T of mine and it's still going strong, the center pin just lifts up and out, then I slipped the replacement over the center pin and pushed it back in, it was very fiddly but it worked. However, I have no idea how long the wire is that is attached to the center pin on a Vamo so it might not lift out enough to do it how I did with my eGo-T battery. It might be worth sending Robby a PM asking if he knows what's what as he is knowledgeable about the Vamo, I'm not sure if he repaired a fault like yours though.

Hi Neil,it was me who had this issue with my older chrome Vamo.I simply broke up an old Boge 510 cartomiser and took the thicker rubber grommet which sits in the 510 connection of the Boge. All you then need to do is lift out the knackerec ring with a small screwdriver, cocktail stick etc, then stretch over the rubber grommet for a rock solid connection.I found it easiest to use two small phillips screwdrivers, one to hold the grommet still and the other to stretch the grommet over the centre pin.My Vamo has been faultless since,if you haven't got any old cartos i can send you a few grommets.I reckon you will have old cartomisers but you never know, lol

I know you like your rebuildables Neil so thought you maybe did away with any cartomisers you may have had?If you need a few grommets then just let me know and i will get some posted.I am really impressed with the fix on my Vamo and now keep the grommets from all my old cartos for any future fixes.
