I have both the Riva 1100 mah and the Ego 1100 mah and can tell the difference between them as they start to run out of charge.
The Riva does start to vape less as the charge runs down.
Ego also does some nice embossed ones as well.

Just to summarise the points above. The original Joytech eGo was a so called regulated battery, so it put out a set voltage (about 3.5 give or take)from start to finish. Many variants of this followed, including the Riva which was one of the first I believe. The Riva is an unregulated battery, so when fully charged it delivers about 4.1/4.2 volts and gradually reduces until the battery is discharged - they normally pack up at around the 3.5 volts mark. This means you get a noticeably more powerful vape to start with than at the finish - but of course the reduction is very gradual. eGo is a bit like "hoover" and has become a generic name for these types of batteries that are produced (in varying qualities) by dozens of factories in China. The same is to some extent true of Rivas. Some eGo's are regulated like the original, some are not. To confuse things even more, the more recent Joytech eGo - T and eGo - C batteries give you the choice of either regulated or unregulated voltage The Joytech batteries have a good reputation for their build quality and reliability and if the vendor's description of their eGo's does not specify that they are Joytech, you can be pretty sure they are made by someone else. Some of these manufacturers are good, some not so good, which is why it pays to use trusted vendors

Just to add that Riva batteries also use a smaller wire internally than the Egos so (Rivas) shouldn't really be used with aties rated below 2.0 ohms.

The whole lot is staring to confuse me. Vaping is a complicated hobby. I've avoided stinkies for 5 weeks and this forum has been an amazing source of info but I still feel like I haven't a clue about it. Maybe someone with lots of experience should do a 101 and have the mods sticky it?
