I don't drink mate. Put myself off when I was 17, I said I'll never do that again and never have. I love my coffee though! Impressed ...

Congrats to you both. I don't drink mate. Put myself off when I was 17, I said I'll never do that again and never have. I love my coffee though! I wish I could still drink coffee, I love the stuff. Yet earlier this year I started to feel sick after every cup I would have, I used to drink around 2 litters a day of the good stuff, but then I go to my quacks & she tells me I have IBS yet it is only coffee that sets me off. I now have to drink Red-bush tea Luckily still good with beer though

What a gutter about the IBS, so its definitely the coffee and not the caffeine that sets it off?

Coffee does me in as well. The only thing that has counteracted it recently is cutting down on red meat/fat and eating more veggies/fruit. Holistic approach for me has worked - the body can only take so much bad stuff. I have to clear other stuff out of the diet to allow stuff like alcohol and curries in.
Best tea I find is from a local chinese supermarket ... Iron Buddha tea is amazing
We've gone from new moderators to a bowel discussion ... discuss

I love red bush tea, although I do have to buy Tick Tock for it to taste good. It's one of the better makes I think and tastes great. Just checking Simon, you did try red bush with no milk? Also not too strong, make sure you can still see the bottom of the cup. It makes a big difference.
Haven't tried iron Budda tea, though tried most teas.

But I even resorted to that got the best branded one out there thinking it must be OK, but alas it was still worse than drinking Red-bush I still try coffee mind you every now and then in the hope I'm cured,, but every time I do I regret it. EDIT: Did i just hijack a thread without even meaning to,

Iron Buddha is an Oolong tea. www.maktubteahouse.com/oolong-tea/Not sure I'd try it though, 20 years ago I loved tea and wasn't a fan of coffee at all, now it's the other way round. I might consider getting the wife some as she drinks tea mostly and some of those Nescafe Mocca things that cost a fortune for what they are!

Back to the new moderators. jess - I keep meaning to ask you, are you actually in France or a Bonnie Tylor fan (or possibly both of course!)? If you are, which part of France are you lost in?

"For hundreds of years Oolong tea has been known for assisting in the aid of digestion, headaches and purifying the system from excess vaping and alcohol intake."
No wonder it's agreeing with me ... (I've edited one part of that quote)

Yes no milk is much better with red bush and getting the flavour right is a fine art it can be ruined if to strong & just taste like warm water if not done right. P.S Congrats once again to two valued forum members

The Tetley redbush is orible, seriously bad, hope you are not basing your findings on that lol. James, I (mostly) made the change from proper coffee to decaf a while age, Asda's own is the best (IMO), although gold blend is next best. I can tell the difference, but it's not that much mate. Don't worry about hijacking a thread, it's just got interesting

Love coffee as well but always shyed away from coffee flavours since I expect them to be too coffee-like if that make sense
