Thanks, Robby. I used it. I had the other one on charge, with the cable attached to the Skycig charging plug and it seemed to be taking forever. The light wouldn't turn green. Finally unplugged it and connected it to my PC and got a green light. I guess it only turns green if it's attached to the PC, or something. I'll stick to PC charging in future :-D That`s odd, it should go green on the mains charger okay, maybe just needs a bit more voltage put into it than it does on the PC. I would give it another go penny, the batteries should give you a bit more time if all it needs is a bit more charge, but dont leave it on overnight Could it be the SkyCig plug? I charge all my USB rechargeable batteries through a hub with no problems www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HI-SPEED-7-PORT-USB-2-0-BUS-HUB-POWERED-AC-UK-mains-plug-For-Laptop-or-PC-/261177978050?pt=UK_Computing_USB_Cables&hash=item3ccf6bacc2

It could be Karma, it depends when the Skycig charger thinks it has charged enough. It may be that the PC charging switches off at 4.1 and the skycig one needs 4.2 or even 4.3 volts. That last few tenths of a volt can take a good bit longer

I'd heard that over-tightening was very bad, so I tried to be careful not to do it. Most annoyingly every time I push the button, I can hear that slight sizzly crackly noise that the JVs make when you vape them. So it sounds like the connection between the battery and the carto is fine. I'm using the other battery now, just put the carto in (careful not to tighten too much) and pushed the button, held it in for a couple of seconds and some vapour starting coming out the end of the carto. Went to take a light puff and got something, but there's so much less vapour and throat hit than with the little JVs, and nowhere near as much as I'm getting with the clearo. This is so odd - maybe I just have a crap technique with the Riva + cartos!
I'm going to try another carto with the JV liquid this time.

Sounds like a dud if you have done everything correctly, im afraid you do get duds now and again. Give it another go and see. Forgot to add, did i mention Grizwalds Banoffee Cream...oooops, looks like i just did EDIT: forgot about the centre pin as Karma said above. Are you psychic? Banoffee Cream is already on my shopping list for payday :DGreat minds, and all that.

If you're getting the 'sizzly' sound then it does sound like a connection is being made! Perhaps it isn't filled enough? give the condom method a try, i always do that for the first fill then just keep them topped up with drips in the top

It might be the Skycig plug - I only used it because when I was looking up the Riva yesterday, someone had mentioned using the Skycig mains plug to charge it. My Kindle, phone and tablet plugs all have USB sockets, so I'll have to check and see if they're OK to use.

Let it sit for a while as well to make sure it's properly soaked through! If in doubt, do it again! The worst that will happen if you overfill is that it'll flood, but it's easy to blow any excess out!
Get into the habit of giving all the connections on batteries, chargers cartos, clearos etc a bit wipe to keep clean. If they get gunked up they won't perform properly! I just use a tissue or cotton bud and occasionally an alcohol swab!

It worked!! I let a fresh one sit in a condom of Caramel Cappucino. Let it soak while I nipped to the shops. Discovered it's much harder to drive and use a Riva than the little JacVapours. Sat at the stupid temporary traffic lights frantically twiddling the Riva in one hand desperately trying to find the button that I knew had to be there while the light turned green... At least the PCC for the JVs is small and they're refillable.
Got home, gave the carto a blow, cleaned off the battery end and success!! No idea if I prefer cartos or the clearo, but don't suppose it matters if I keep using both.
Huge thanks for all your help :-)
Grizwald's Caramel Cappucino is amazing! If we hadn't wound up with a bill of £200 for new front wheel bearings for my other half's car, I'd probably be back on Vape Escape ordering a lot more flavours. That'll have to wait until the end of next week. I want to try some 0% nic for late evening vaping as well, as the nic stuff leaves me far too awake.

Penny, the cartomisers can also take a little while to kick in - lol, never really worked out why.
Re charging your Riva batteries with the Sky cig mains charger - are you also using the Skycig USB charger? If so, it will take a long time to charge your Riva batteries.
