Anyone use these? What do you think? Where is the cheapest place to get them? I used them a couple of years ago, got mine off Ebay I didnt think much of them, they do clean your clothes but I didnt like the lack of smell and went back to my normal soap powder.

What are soapnuts?
Soap nuts are known worldwide by many names such as soapnuts, soapberry, Reetha (Hindi), Chinese soapberry and many more. Very simply, soap nuts are the dried shells or husks from the soapberry.
There are many kinds of shells that have saponin (chestnut is one). However the sapindus (soapnut) trees have an abundance. There are actually ten varieties of sapindus, but we only sell sapindus mukurossi, because these yield the most saponin (soap) when mixed with water. In nature saponin is a mild insecticide and anti-bacterial compound, it is used to repel bugs and fungus from tress naturally!
These amazing little berry shells of the soap nut berry tree contain soap (saponin) which we can use to clean not only our clothes but vegetables, kitchens, pets and much more!...

Thanks, Mary. I think I'll stick with Ariel, Fairy and Dove for all my soap-related activities

ecoballs, if you ask me BoxInside looks like this (if it works, first pics I've done since the upgrade) www.brisbourne.plus.com/econuts.gifClothes washing is mostly a pink job in our house, but my OH swears by these things, always uses them unless clothes are very greasy, seems to believe the 150 wash claim.

I started making my own washing gunk from borax, washing soda, and laundry soap. Works well too, and a fraction of the price of commercial powders.

And here I was thinking soapnuts was some sort of medical condition, if I had it, I would have to get another shower cap

As there's a frugal thread been started I thought I'd update this! I bought a a £5, including delivery ,pack from here www.inasoapnutshell.com/Now I do a lot of washing, but you only use around 5 at a time and that 5 can be reused about 4 times! I've been using a teaspoon of soda crystals too and with that combination it works really well, clothes are clean Now I do like my clothes to smell of something, so I've been using a few drops of essential oil in the fabric conditioner part of the drawer and, my washing machine no longer has a fusty smell! I would recommend these
