I was doing that but quite a lot of things you cant do on the mobile version on android. The main one was that i could not edit my posts even though the tab was there. Pro boards app has everything except being able to like posts.

Ye you are right have just tried it, the version linked to is from July last year and my N7 is running JB 4.2.2 so maybe incompatible I will stick with the mobile version and get my posts right first time although just noticed I spelt binned wrong in my post above

Just pay for the app m8 froth app store. The APK you are trying to install has not been verified, could contain malicouse code (they do that with pirated apps to get your bank ID and logins).

I have nexus 7, I do app development and work with Android OS (as a hobby) and the genuine version works.

Come on guys, would you walk into a shop and nick a £1.90 item? Nope. then buy it....

Should you need to pay for a proboards app though ? they make more money the more people they have using their forums so it's in their interest to offer a free app wouldn't you think ?

No you shouldn't, but that's not the point. The point to make is when you go to put fuel in your car and find you have -£ in your bank as someone who thought they are getting a free ride has actually installed a virus embedded application. OR you get an email from google for infringing copyright, unless your device is rooted with a sophisticated rom AND never connected to the internet.

Companies deliberate flood the pirate market with infected software to stop people from doing it. If you know what to look for then go for it, but to the untrained eye it is very easy to fool yourself into a sense of security when downloading pirate material.

But the saying goes, you need to get burnt to know it hurts

Then again, why should we pay for car parking if we have £hundreds in our back pockets to go shopping, who incidentally pay MASSIVE rates to have a shop there in the first place.

Nothing in life is free, no matter what there is always some hidden cost be it financially/energy etc

I think you missed my point.... Proboards isn't free and is paid for in one way or another. An app to view their forums should be free in my opinion, I wouldn't buy a book then think it fine to have to pay for special glasses to read it. Companies will keep adding extra costs on everything if you let them and keep paying out everytime.

Your point about possible virus is a valid one and people using apps not validated should know this and that they're taking a chance.

I agree 100% on the proboards thing. And I bet they make a small fortune from the likes of the forum owners.
