Hi,
Complete newbie here and sorry if i am asking silly question, but hey don't ask never find anything out.......
Did a bit of research into vaping, as have wanted to move away from cigarettes for a while now but the amount of choices seemed mind blowing to start with, eventually decided on a V1P kit from JAC vapour as this seemed to have consistently good reviews.
Kit arrived, easy to set up and get going with but......i find myself using it more often than i would smoke a normal cigarette, that's not to say that i have the same amount of puffs as i would normally, but still seem to find the need to use it more often, is this normal ?
Also when i ordered the kit i order 24mg American red carts, as i thought these would give me a good heavy throat hit when using them, but again is ok but not quite what i was expecting, any thoughts ?
Having said that am really pleased that i have made the first steps away from smelly fags and want to really embrace vaping, as i feel its is a good move for me.
Suppose what i am asking is does any have any advice, will my starter kit last me for a while or due to be a heavy smoker do i need to look to upgrade ? any recommendation for e-liquids that give a good "hit" and where is the best place to look at setup etc and the best place to find out which type of set-up will ultimately suit my needs.
Having said that 1 day gone and no cigarettes so a good start :-) any help/advise really gratefully recieved
Cheers
Tom

Using it more is perfectly normal as less nicoteine is absorbed through vaping than smoking. As too upgrading, lol, they will ne along shortly, anyhow well done in making it here, just enjoy it and welcome aboard, andy.

Welcome to the forum.
There are no silly questions tomp, only silly answers. Ask away - we like to help.
Congratulations on starting to use ecigs instead of smoking - one of the best decisions you've made in your life.
It is normal to change the amount you puff and the way you puff when you move to e-cigs. You may take in more nicotine at first, so drink plenty of water, otherwise you may find your head starts to ache or go dizzy.
For more throat hit try changing the way you draw on it before you change anything else. It varies depending on the user and the equipment, but compared to smoking a long slow draw works better than short puffs. It may also be worth taking a quick hard suck before the long one (to warm the element up). Some like to take the long draw into the mouth and then suck it all sharply into the lungs.
Higher nicotine levels will give you more throat hit, and there is equipment which will give you more throat hit than the JAC Vapour. 24mg is probably already a bit above average strength, but if you feel you need to use it a lot you could go higher - how much did you smoke? And what brand? Juices with a high ratio of PG to VG are good for throat hit (but not for vapour) but I think your Red American is pure PG.

Hi tomo welcome to the forum. Not used that kit so not sure.
Higher nic content will give you more throat hit but you are already quite high. More pg content gives you more throat hit. What ratio is your liquid now?
As for using it more. I vape a lot more than i smoked. Get through about 4 ml of liquid a day. My motto is if you feel like a vape then vape.

Hi,
Glad there are no silly questions, get me off the hook lol.
i used to smoke mainly Marlboro reds, or that type of tobacco and if i was rolling my own it would Drum dark blue, used to smoke 20-30 a day (cant believe i actually put used to)
Will try the different ways of puffing to see if one works better than the other, am just pleased that it is quite normal to need them more often than normal smokes
Cheers

Hi,
Not sure of the mix as ordered pre-filled carts, has since ordered some juice, purecig 24mg so will give that a try
looking forward to getting more into this as there seems to be some much variety that am sure will find a setup that is right for me.
Does anyone know of an actual shops, in or around London?
Cheers
Tom

Welcome Tom.
Ignoring the catagorical "fail" I had with E-Lites, JacVapour were my introduction to e-cigs. I had a 2 battery PCC kit which served me well. I used medium and medium high nicotine e-liquids - the one that seemed to stop my chain-vaping was a 24mg liquid. I didn't like it much, but it did the job. First few days I tended to smoke a couple in the morning and then a few in the evening. I didn't try to quit smoking, but hoped I would generate the belief that I could just stop and trust in the vaping.
I have praised JacVapour on more than a few e-cig review sites; I accept they are frustrating with their incompatible fittings/threads, and I also accept that compared to filling your own, they are still more expensive than necessary. However, they are a genuine product that doesn't rip people off like some. I enjoyed the early days very much vaping on Jac's.
I must have used a few dozen cartomisers and filled them with e-liquid until they gave up.
You WILL get over the chain vaping. It takes time, but be strong. Ultimately, unless you get lucky and find the kit you have works out great, you may well end up moving on/up to an ego/riva battery and maybe clearomisers. Ultimately, I upgraded as I got fed up with topping up the cartomisers and constantly switching batteries in and out of the PCC.
Good luck.

Hello & welcome Tom I think your best bet would be to get along to the London meet, if possible That way you could see what others are using & I'm sure most of them wouldn't mind you trying their kit out
