Well done Arlo - great success! I found I wasa bit spaced out for a few days immediately after quitting the stinkies, but I have since realised that it was indeed all the chemicals I was missing, not the vaping. I still have some baccie, filters and papers in my vaping cupboard. I can honestly say that the few times I have been tempted I have just thought about the horrible taste of the one rollie I have had since quitting, and that is enough to get my mind back on track. You will find it takes a few weeks, and there may be other short-term symptoms along the way, but once you have been vaping a month or two, you will really start to notice the difference (although perhaps not in your bank balance if you get affected by shinyitis!) it gets easier. I was one of the lucky ones never touched a ciggy since my first vape.I thought it was magic,45 years smoking and tried everything to quit, then bam no major cravings. Occasionally even now at random moments i think how nice a ciggy would be and then i tell myself not to be stupid . 10 minutes or so and a vape and its gone. just keep on with it - you know it makes sense

I found the psychological change more difficult to cope with (but in a good way) than any physical effect. I just couldn't get my head around the fact that I didn't crave a stinkie It almost felt like something was missing - that 'something' being the craving I was expecting to have, but didn't. I felt like I was getting away too easily, I suppose. I found myself giggling to myself a bit because it was as though I'd found a miracle cure that no one else knew about, and when my friends were saying 'well done you' for quitting the smokes, it was as though I didn't deserve their admiration, because I'd not had to struggle at all. I spent the first few days analysing the way I was feeling, kind of testing myself - but now I don't think about it much at all, and I feel as normal as I ever did (which isn't saying much, tbh!). I suppose in some ways vaping takes more conscious effort than smoking (which flavour shall I vape? Are all my batteries charged? What shall I buy next?) - there are more decisions to make, as opposed to just opening the next packet of cigs/baccy and using them. It seems to be more of a hobby than a habit, if you see what I mean. Hope you enjoy your continuing experience of vaping, I'm enjoying it so much more than I ever did smoking!

Yes I was the same. Never suffered any cravings whatsoever when I packed up after 40 plus years of smoking. Weird really. It never crosses my mind now to even think about having a ciggie.

I'm on day 11 and yesterday was the first full day I felt good since quitting. I quit as soon as my ego arrived and I've not touched one since The first few days I felt very dizzy and woozy but I'm not sure if that was withdrawal or the fact that I had only bought 6mg juice. Been on 18mg the last few days and feeling normal It'll soon pass x

Yes I agree with all the above, it really will pass, I got a terrible cold (man flu) followed by a cough. I knew it was all the crap coming out of me. The mrs said she could smell it coming out of my skin too! (yes that's weird) It took around a week to clear up and then I noticed a improvement in taste and smell. It's funny thinking back now how easy it was compared to my first attempts to give up the stinky's with patches/NHS etc. I personally don't think I'll give up the nicotine, my purpose was to give up the stinky's. I am in a very happy vaping place and have been for quite some time. You will find this site the most friendly and supportive place to be with people around that have been there too. Enjoy and well done.

Thanks to all who have posted for the support! Today was a bad day, concentration levels were low and mood swings were in play. Was at work outside with the stinkie possy and I was driven a bit bonkers by the smell of fags. My brain felt torn between desire and revulsion for said smell but a few steps away sorted it out. Drinking a lot of water is good advice. Today I felt weak and a little shaky and dizzy. I often felt like I had just been on a long distance flight with no sleep however my floor at work has a hardly used disabled toilet which turned out to be perfect for a sneaky vape. I am sure it is the chemicals that have messed up my neuro receptors and other areas but its war and my will shall win and my health will reap the reward. AndyB I think shinyitis is preordained in many folk and should be embraced (where reasonably affordable) was wondering if there is a forum for it though!
