It was worth staying in for the postie this morning
He arrived with 5 parcels (I love clicking the 'pay now' button) including one from Vapor Station with my stasis 901 and juice, and the other from OKSmokey with my prefilled carts. Fantastic service from both companies, considering I only ordered on Saturday.
After reading the instructions about charging the batteries for 8 hours each, I completely disregarded this and remembered Lilac posting that the batteries come with a good charge.
So, I am now vaping - and it's great. Now, I realise all of you know it's great and don't need a newbie like me to tell you, but I honestly didn't expect to take to it so quickly and easily.
After a short vaping time and then a break, I really fancied an analog. I hummed and hawed for a bit then gave into the spoilt brat inside me, who was beginning to stamp her feet about not really caring whether I gave up or not, so long as she could have a cig. I took 3 puffs and put it out - even the spoilt brat was silenced.
SO, I had my last full analogue at 10.30 this morning and now it's now nearly 3pm. OK, so I'm not exactly going to go down in record books yet, but it's a start. I am still carrying my analogues with me and there is an open pack on the desk in front of me, but I'm not tempted at the moment.
So far I have tried the pre-loaded carts (quite smokey) the cream soda, VS frost & VS london - all good so far, although I am not someone who is terribly fussy about likes and dislikes - there are very few food flavours I don't enjoy.
Let's hope this is the start of a beautiful relationship!

I'm grinning from ear to ear Jaki & doing a little happy dance for you Yes we do need newbie's to tell us they think it's great It's just such wonderful news to hear Plus of course every day this forum gets up to 50guest (non members) lurkers. Some of those lurkers may not have tried an e-cig yet but after reading posts like yours will be encouraged to do so. So a big thank you Jaki for making me (& I'm sure many other s) happy & encouraging newbies

It rather sounds as though you're having the same experience as I did Jaki. From the very first 'vape' I was converted. I thought I loved tobacco but now I realize I don't - I much prefer to vape than smoke and despite what others say, just know I'm doing myself far less harm than was my 30-40 a day rolly habit! My next goal is to cut down on the nicotine strength I'm using and I don't think it's going to be that difficult. Keep up the good work. Fox

Great Jaki so delighted you're loving the ecig, i've made an interesting discovery, and that is that if im feeling i'd like a normal cig, i add more menthol to my mix, it seems to be that the better throat kick i get, the more satisfied i feel...no matter the strength of the nicotine in the juice

SoF: that's exactly what I do and you'll never get that from a NRT inhaler which is why it never worked for me. (That and the nauseating taste of course). Fox

Jaki, I was an instant convert too... I had to carry on smoking for the first few days as I only bought one E-cig! It took me only one vape to know that this was the way for me to stop smoking and it has been over 4 weeks since my last analogue. I still have 13 in a packet in my kitchen drawer. They were on full view for the first couple of weeks and then I got tired of seeing them. What is really weird is that now I don't need them, I am finding lighters all over the place. When I wanted them they were nowhere to be seen!! Good luck with the vaping

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I am just so thrilled and amazed that I have taken to it so quickly and with apparent ease. I really don't fancy an analogue at the moment, despite being out the house for a couple of hours with a slowly dying battery and a pack of Marlboro lights in my handbag!
Lynda, the starter set I bought has 2 batteries, so 'one on and one in the wash' as my mum would say. I have a long day at work tomorrow, driving round SE London - traffic jams are one of the numerous things that get me reaching for the fags, so it will have a fair trial.
I've got a USB charger in my car so I'll be fine so long as I remember to pack the lead and I am hoping my Garry Dibley passthrough will be here tomorrow, so might just keep the lead permanently in the car.
Lilac/SoF I don't have a menthol - I've got a VS frost (would that class as menthol?), which is nice, but not overly strong. I'm not sure whether that will cut it, but I bought some higher strength eliquid too, so I may try mixing the two.
Quick question - my kit included 2 attys. I've just using one at the moment with the thought of saving the other for when this one performs less well - or should I be breaking both in and using alternatively? Is there a right/wrong way? Should I try the other in case it is duff and I find myself attyless (made up word?)
Thanks guys - you've been such help in getting me started so well x x

Hi jaki, its recommended to have at least 2, preferably a couple more and rotate them, they seem to last longer that way, at least rotate the 2 you have

Thanks for that Lilac - I've broken in my other atty am now looking at getting a couple more from VS - they really do look the best value. Hmm - sorry about the blonde menthol question I have been vaping VS Tootsie this evening - it really is a strange flavour, but I rather like it - like burned caramel sweeties - very strong and quite moreish Lynda - you're doing brilliantly - I hope I can be saying the same in 4 weeks time, although it does sound as though our experiences are very similar - Foxy's too. The last time I had gone this long without an analogue I was pregnant with my first - he's nearly 18 now so this is something of a red letter day for me! Sylla - I intend to introduce this to all my smoking friends - the PV as well as this lovely forum x

Day two and still not had a cigarette (I need a jump for joy smiley) Had some ups and downs today - the main being one of my batteries has completely packed up AND my new atty I was trying to break in doesn't work very well Maybe you have some suggestions? It works fine when I direct drip but hardly anything when I use a cart. Could there be something wrong with the height of the bridge? I sent a contact form (via their website) to VS this morning asking them to call me, and then called and left a message on their voicemail, but I've not heard anything back yet > On the plus side, my GD passthrough was on my doormat when I got in - oh happy days. I am in vaping heaven at my pc with my VS Dr Vapor (like Dr Pepper) Anyway, I was thinking about how I am going forward with this. For example, I have an all day meeting at one of our major client's head office in Holborn next week - there is no way my little batteries are going to last me. I really need something a bit more heavy duty to last me long days, so I was looking at the Screwdriver but I'm not sure about the button being on the end. Then I found the Nomad on LibertyFlights for £40, less 15% discount brings it down to under £36 delivered! That seems like a steal to me so I think I'm going to go with that, unless anyone has adverse advice ??? However, the main thing is - still no analogues - whoopeee

You are doing so well Jaki But sorry to hear you are having problems with a battery & attie The attie may just need breaking in a bit more. Hope VS get back to you soon. I don't know the Nomad - off to see if I can find anything about it. Re your GD passthru. I use mine via a powerful USB hub I bought on eBay, & just plug that into the mains so I don't need to be near a PC to use it. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280376805594You can buy cheaper mains powered hubs than that one but it's the highest powered one I've seen. It's 5v & 3000 Amps.
