Tagging

[OneDay]

Tagging is a useful way of getting the attention of a fellow member. If you 'tag' someone in a post their name will appear in a highlighted colour in the post and they will receive a notification that you have tagged them along with a link to your post.

To tag someone you simply put the '@' symbol in front of their name. So to tag a member named faggy for example, you would type @faggy in your post. One thing to beware of - if a member has changed their display name tagging the new name will not work. My original forum name was onedayillquit. I have changed my display name to OneDay. Tagging @oneday will not work. To check, hover your mouse over the user's name in their mini profile and it will show their original forum name to apply the tag to.

beautycat you have used @oneday and it should be @ onedayillquit (without the space)

OneDay

An even quicker way to tag someone -

If you are in a thread already, hold down the alt key on your keyboard, then left click on a persons name in the mini profile, and it will automatically add it to the quick reply.

The same can be done in the full reply page. Alt+click their name from the "thread summary" and it will automatically add their name into the reply box .

Woaaaah - that's mint.

It even works by Alt-clicking on a tag in another post - that's how I got OneDay 's here
