I've used Brandy for tobacco leaf extraction which give the final concentrate a nice flavour.

@ashmal what % do you add real spirits? i have loads in my cupboard. i normally do a 10 or 15 ml total volume I was going to make a coffee with a hint of whiskey mix so I bought a half bottle of whiskey to use as an addative/dilutant to the mix, while sampling the Scotch in order to decide on what sort of percentage to use I ended up drinking the lot and getting too pissed to do the mix.

I did not drink a shot of the JD out of the little measuring cup, honest! I might have to have a go at Pimms flavour. I'm a bit surprised nowhere does a tonic flavour. Gin and Lemonade is nice, you could try and replicate that.
