Hi All. Received today the AGA-S from a `brilliant` vendor namely "VAPEGEAR".http://www.vapegear.co.uk/product/aga-s
Unpacked the atty, stripped it down, washed in ultra sonic cleaner, re-assembled it.
Flamed some 0.20 kanthal, flamed 2 strands of 1mm ekowool silica.
Made up coil 5 wraps 1.9/2.0ohms. Fitted onto AGA-S.
Filled with some `cherry` flavoured juice. Fired up, "brilliant vape"
Taken me longer to type this post as it did to go from re-assembled to vaping.
An absolute `doddle` to set up, much easier than any other atty I have used.
So `newbies` if you are thinking of getting a re- buildable atty, that works with both `silica` and s/s wick (genesis)
this is one I would strongly recommend, 100% stainless steel construction..
At £14.00 odd delivered it`s a "winner".

Nice write up jeffc, but I must admit I have a slightly different opinion. Did you use mesh? Just received mine yesterday too, and what an absolute pain in the ass to coil! Wick is very hard to push in to holes, but finally I got both ends in then attempted to coil it. You use a pin to stiffen the wick, granted, but the wick kept pulling out of the holes, and it's a nightmare trying to thread the wire through it neatly. The centre post is extremely difficult with my big fingers to tighten, and of course as I tried, the wick was still pulling out. ARgggghhh. About 20 minutes later I finally got 4 coils lighting up rather nicely, but it was far from easy. Now an Ithaka, that's where it's at, 2 minutes total, 4 minutes if you need to build a res/no res wire

I did forget to mention that once it's built it is a really good vape and it's really good value for money. That's where I do agree!

Thanks WHUFC71.
For putting in the link. I still have not mastered how to do it ?
Hi SCS. I used ekowool silica wick 2 x 1mm strands, which easily slide into the wick holes. I shall use the AGA-S only for my fruit and dessert juices. Mesh I find better suited to tobacco type juices.

I haven't utilised mesh as yet, I probably should.
I followed Maccafan's guide, which is 3mm ekowool. I can see it being far easier with 2mm total, and it sounds like it's still wicking great.
Thanks jeffc

Haven't used my AGA-S in weeks and now just got it out thanks to you jeffc ... 80% VG home steeped tobacco juice in it and its chuffing away nicely Do you find it easier to set up than an RSST ?

Hi Ash. I am somewhat lucky having small hands and slim fingers, this certainly helps when setting up a small atty.
The positive post on the AGA-S is much closer to the wick holes, hence minimum distance for the coil wire.
The RSST has this short distance also, so this is also a `doddle` for me.
But to answer the RSST in Genesis mode is easier, and I find the AGA-S easier for silica wick set up.
Both atty`s are suitable for 1st time users.
Hope this is understandable in my answer.

Be good to see a photo of your setup

is it a problem if you don't have something to test the resistance on when building these?

is it a problem if you don't have something to test the resistance on when building these? If you don't you run the risk of damaging your batteries and worse. Best practice is to test for shorts and testing with a multimeter or mod like a Vamo will tell you what resistance you have achieved.

I've found the RSST easier than the AGA-S to set up (both mesh), although I recently had a problem with the RSST on the top coil, always a hot spot, changing from .20 kanthal to .22 kanthal made all the difference and it was a POP compared to the .20 In fact I still haven't got the AGA-s set up the way I want it, work in progress.

Hi DannyW14.
Could be depends on the battery unit you are using.
Ideally you need to be able to check the Ohms resistance before you fit it to your mod.
Ebay have some very good `multimeters` at realistic prices, worth you having a look on their site.
If you use 0.20mm Kanthal wire on 2mm wick, and make 4/5 wraps, should give you 1.8/ 2.0 ohms resistance, which should be
ok to use on any mods.
Dont forget to flame the wire with lighter or gas hob, get the wire `red hot`, do this 2 times, takes the springiness out of the wire and easier to coil.
Hope this info helps.
Give it a go, you will be delighted with the vaping experience, once you get it right.

a multimeter off ebay.
You can also buy pre-wired 510 connectors from stealthvape.co.uk and banana plugs from maplin to make a wired 510 tester. Prob less than a tenner all in
Double your budget and you can get a vamo (batteries and chargers not included) to do it for you
