OK guys 'n' gals, I'm thinking about trying a rebuildable atomiser, and would value your collective wit, charm and most of all experience in this matter. There are a few things I would like in my choice though: 1) It has to be idiot-proof - I am a bit of a klutz so anything that needs a magnifying glass, thin fingers and endless patience is out of the window for a start. 2) I'm not really into dripping, so something with a tank is nearly essential. Capacity is not too much of a problem, so anything upwards of 1.5ml of juice would be acceptable. 3) It must not cost a lot - I am on a tight budget, under the scrutiny of the OH, so if I can keep the item and other sundry consumables to a minimum of outlay, that would be good. 4) It will be living on my Vamo - an RBA with good looks would be nice. 5) This is a project for me to see if I can save even more money by re-coiling, but is not the start of a collection of RBAs; with this in mind, I would like something which will serve me well, be cheap and durable, and be pleasurable to use and rebuild, not a millstone around my neck. There you are, not a long list then If anyone can make some good suggestions with links to the appropriate item(s), I would be eternally grateful. Well, until I start posting all the silly questions that new rebuilders post when they are frustrated and running out of patience! Andy

I've jumped in at the cheaper end of the rebuildable market with an AGA T2 and an RSST.
Both have their good qualities and I've enjoyed the best vape using mesh on the RSST (I haven't tried mesh in the AGA yet)
However if I was just getting one I'd choose the AGA, it is a bit more fiddly to set up but - Has a better build quality - Has a glass tank - Is more flexible as you can use mesh or silica in it

OK, thanks so far folks, but could someone please firect me to a RSST (and what does that stand for?). As far as silica or mesh, what's easiest to use, and which gives the better vape for less fiddling? As you can see, I've hit a knowledge wall here, and need to be educated regarding the terminology and such-like. "Pulse the wick"? - what does that mean!? Where's the best place to get an AGA-T from please? I see the words "it is a bit more fiddly to set up" and I start to panic! Off to have a nose around Charlie's empire Andy

Off to have a nose around Charlie's empire Andy what juice flavours do you vape? RSST is a mesh atty and generally these are regarded as better with tobacco's in comparison to silica atty's www.vapegear.co.uk/product/rsstWith mesh wick, since there are metal you have to oxidise them first to protect them from shorting (metal to metal) - the RSST is kind of insulated so there is less setup and you can oxidise once you have the wick in place. Cheap silica atty's without the expense can be difficult to find if you want a tank setup ... you might be better trying recoiling whatever you are currently using (nova's / visions / evods) before investing. A Vision eternity however is a good starter ... www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=192

I'm in the same boat Andy and will be watching this thread with interest, I've been told silica wicks are best for fruity or sweet flavours and mesh for tobacco but I could be wrong. .. other than that. .. not a clue lol

With AGA's you have metal on metal going on. Since the RSST is insulated and has a plastic tank to protect the metal wick you don't need to pre-oxidise ... aside from where the wire coils around the wick. Pulsing is a way of oxidising in-situ. You put the wick in, coil it, hit the battery for 5 secs or so over and over until the coils glow and the wick turns blacker... this is then oxidised. add juice and vape

Bloody Hell! For a technophobe like me, this is a steep hill to climb learning-wise! Thanks @ashmal for the explanation of pulsing, I think I understand this now I prefer sweet/dessert juices, so perhaps silica is better than mesh for me. The Eternity has caught my eye, but is this a tank, or just for dripping (not really my bag, see above). Do I still need to oxidise the wire if I'm using silica wick? Andy

Andy No, although some people flame the wick before to clean it of impurities which may impact flavour. The eternity is a dripper but you can get about 30 drops in it plus it comes with an ego tank option. One of the largest capacities for drippers. It doesnt leak unless you hit 40-50 drops

Other option is the Dream from charlies ... cheap and easy to wick and great vape but I find it a bit inconsistent and it needs love and care. You might get frustrated with it ...
