I saw a video from Todd the other night and speculated a quid on a metre of the steel cable on Ebay. It works, and it works very well.
Todd
I think the AGA S I am using could have used a thicker bit of steel cable but I got mine here. It may be possible to get something a little wider than 2mm through the hole.
My coils is 4 turns which comes out at 1.4 ohms. I wanted to be sure of it working on the Vamo.
Watch all of todd`s video, he makes a lot of good points, although it is basically the same method as mesh wick. Far easier and quicker though in my opinion. You get a metre of the 2mm cable for 99p. I have a feeling that may go up once the word gets out lol. He must be losing on the deal. One metre is going to last you ages. Be careful how you cut it, it is steel and isnt easy, I used the dremel to cut mine to get a clean cut. It can unravel a bit and be difficult to get through the hole if you dont keep it tidy.
I think there might be a case for wrapping a bit of ecowool around the point of contact due to the cross section of the cable and the small gaps that there must be between the coil and the cable, but so far it is wicking just fantastic. There is a bit of lag while the coil heats up the steel cable, but just the first second maybe. You will also notice that the juice in the tank gets warm as the heat travels down the steel cable to the tank.
Dont be runnin out the back yard and pinching the kid`s brake cables.......................ermm.........................well,...... not without telling them
If anyone else has already posted this, my apologies.

Hi robby, Never seen this before, so obviously had to buy some. Surprise surprise lol. You mention ekowool to wrap around where the coil is, but Todd mentions mesh. Can we have an update on what you are finding best? Also, what wire are you using in that picture? Can't wait to have a go with this stuff

I am just using the Steel Cable that the Ebay link points to, so far I haven`t felt the need for ekowool. This is wicking just great, I think that may also be helped by the flat kanthal which will have a fair bit more metal close to the steel cable than normal stuff will have. I love it lol, this is the first wick using steel that I have been happy with, not getting any dry hits at all. I am not sure of the dimensions of the kanthal, I`ll see if I can find out. I am going to get some 3 mm steel cable as well to play around with on the DID clone. It`s just the usual stuff with this, oxidising etc. The wicking seems to have become better after it has been in use for a while. Very impressed scs

Mine arrived this morning ... planning to have a go later with a bit of mesh wrapped around the top part where the coil is to flatten the contact with the kanthal out

Hi.
I am watching this post with great interest. I have ordered via Ebay a length of 2mm dia 7/7, stainless steel rope.
Watched Todd video and other US based reviews, still not 100% convinced, so awaiting both `Robby` and `Ash` feedback, plus
any other members who have used, this `rope` wick.

It`s difficult to know what to get, especially after the variable results with different sizes of mesh. I am pretty happy with this though, so I am going to get a metre of the 3mm but with the same cross-sectional profile scs

I had doubts before trying it due to the fact that it wasnt totally round, but it is excellent. Having watched so many review videos where they throw out all that vapour, this is doing it. Flavour is excellent as well.

Just tried this and it's working well.
Agree with Robby it's a sod to cut without the right tools but I wrapped the frayed end with mesh and put my coil over it.
Getting great lemon & lime flavour and it hasn't stopped wicking
