Just tried this and it's working well. Agree with Robby it's a sod to cut without the right tools but I wrapped the frayed end with mesh and put my coil over it. Getting great lemon & lime flavour and it hasn't stopped wicking It`s been a revelation to me after faffing around with mesh for so long, this worked and wicked first time

I've got some 2mm cable from the aforementioned supplier set up in my Cobra since this morning - it's wicking like a champ, no complaints so far.
I used some low-ish count SS mesh that came free with an order from the Mesh Company to wrap under the coils. It may just be my imagination but I find coarser mesh easier to oxidise and we are no longer relying on it for the capillary action.
All good so far - can't go wrong for 99p a metre!

0.3 x 0.10mm - 48,9 ohm/m, 0.3 x 0.15mm - 32,6 ohm/m, 0.5 x 0.10mm - 29,4 ohm/m, 0.6 x 0.10mm - 24,5 ohm/m
0.3 x 0.1 seems to be similar to 0.2 kanthal as far as I can tell jeffc (assuming you want/need 4 wraps at 1.8ohms ish)

i got the 3mm ... its huge ,,, doubt you'd fit it in an AGA-S Hi Ash, What device are you using 3mm on? Did you get the 316 grade or the wire robby posted? Cheers. I did get the 3mm but not tried it yet on anything ... looks waaay to big ... it won't fit an AGA-S I can tell you now ... poss an AGA-T or RSST but it'll be close Ok, just tried the 2mm on the AGA-S ... didn't have any cutters that would go through it and wasted a few cm that frayed ... once it happens, chuck it. Dremel cutter on full speed goes through it nicely. Cut it the same length as the previous wick. Flamed it red to get rid of impurities, cut about cm of mesh and wrapped it round the top then coiled it. With the mesh it looks like a normal wick, there is no wire showing. Now the vape. I coiled a 1.0 ohm (oh the joys of mech mods) and loaded it with homebrew 90% VG tobacco and it wicks really well. If you chain vape, you will get lack flavour as the juice tries to catch up but its nothing like a dry hit - this probably also due to the VG I am using. Flavour is pretty good as well, nice and clean. Think there is a slight metallic tang but this might wear in over time. This isn't a life changer for me to be honest but it's pretty cheap and once you cut a few wicks, they should probably last a long long time and should cut down on rolling new mesh wicks. Wondering what the gunk factor will be like? Possibly using mesh may make cleaning them a lot easier since this will stop it getting into the wire. Once I've cleared my RSST tank will be putting one in that as well
