You chaps using this mainly on tobacco juices ? Update ... flushed out the AGA-S this morning, dry burnt the mesh and refilled it with DV French Apple Tart ... double bonus here since it tastes good with a fruit to me and I have found it hard to change juices with mesh without some residual taste of the previous juce. (I've never been entirely convinced of the tobacco for mesh argument, fruit for silica argument before) ... anyway this is not bad. This has also outlined how good the flavour from the previous juice was using the wire ... the kind of burn taste I was getting wasn't from the wick ... it was the oak flavouring I'd used and to be honest couldn't taste in the silica wicks I'd tested it on

@ashmal that's interesting to know. As you say, it does question the necessity of using 1 for this and 1 for that. Next step is chocolate

Have been playing with this for about 2 months and yep wicks very well. In fact too well for me. I use mainly VG liquids and too much tilting leads to gurgles. Can't be doing with the gurgles so have gone back to mesh. Hi Andy, Did you use ribbon kanthal, if so, what size? Cheers. Yes I have a couple of types that translate to 28 and 30 AWG. Not sure how that translate but .20 is 32 AWG. Do like it a lot. Doesn't mean I have hung up kanthal completely but certainly worth playing with. It seems to be more robust in the .20 equivalent that I have run out of and yes will be getting more. It is another one of those finds that incrementally improves the vape rather than being a game changer for me. I have been using it for 3 months or so and have come down to the thought that the improvement is down to the increase in area touching the wick. Easy set up, definitely worth a dart.

CLICK THE PIC FOR VIDEO. Tried it on the DID, just as easy to set up, (on the KTS Storm this time) same method used. It is essential that the coil is in close contact with the SS cable the whole way. I am getting the odd dry hit if I dont "tilt". The next one I will do will be with the bit of mesh around the top of the wick, hoping that will give a bit of "blotting paper" effect and also fill in any contact gaps between the coil and the wick. I am expecting the 3mm cable tomorrow. It is the same cross section design ie....7 strands of seven strand makeup as in the picture at the top of the thread. I think someone else has bought the other type that is available.

That is an excellent informative read on wire, I would highly recommend anyone to read it if you make your own coils and wicks, clear and to the point and aimed specificly at vapers, excellent find Andy Thatcher, thanks for posting it
