This could be a job for the evic, with maximum voltage for 2 secs, then decreasing voltage after that. Once I work out how to do it

I think I'm overdosed on nic/flavour..... this 3mm wick once warmed up is a beast. Bit of a bugger keeping it warmed up though. Send out a search party if I'm not on by tomorrow night.

But a partially resistive wick would surely take way too much power, better to stick with the coil which concentrates the power where it is needed. I know the wick needs to be heated up to a decent level, but not to the heat of the coil. Or am I getting this wrong?

So have been revisiting cable for a week or so.
Over wicking was a problem for me but seems I have fixed that by using small wicks. by small I mean you can just see it in the tank by a mm or two.
I wrap a couple of wrap of mesh around the top of the wick for the coil. Reason for that is mainly so the wick doesn't have to be heated to vape. The coil heats the mesh generating vapour. This also means there is less chance, not a guarantee, that your liquid won't be cooked and sludge your tank if using sweeter liquids.
Have migrated all my geny's to cable bar one now and am just running single wicks in them all rather than my normal U wicks..well it wick so well there is no need.
Still not sure it is the mesh killer but am starting to think that it maybe.
I use 2mm in my RSST, AC9, Z-Atty's and 1/16 in HellFire, Cobra etc.

Probably an impossibility but if you could make the top resistive it might work, was just thinking out loud lol

What we need is a wick which becomes resistive when you pass a voltage across it. I hold high hopes for stem cell research. lol

Really not certain that you want a resistive wick.
Strikes me as being a short and a rather large hotspot waiting to happen.

Can't see a problem if you use thin enough gauge cable and ensure the mesh is well oydised but then again I don't use clearo's so don't really know.

HIGHLY recommend them! I just visited to order some Kanthal as my eBay wire is coming from Denmark and i think a guy is delivering it in the back of a rucksack it's taking so long so just ordered a small amount to keep me going until my 50m spool get's here, and the order was shipped exactly 9 minutes after being placed.
