Not having great luck with Evods

After watching a video about the Evod I decided to have a look at my brand new, out of the pack Evod and see how many wicks were on top of the coil. Tried to pull the nobbly long shaft off but it wouldn't budge, unfortunately the rubber bung in the bottom did and I now have an evod head in two parts with the nobbly bit still attached and then the rubber bung with coil and wick attached and I can't get them back together without removing the nobbly bit.

I'm seriously thinking I might just be destined to never try an Evod

Why did you try to pull a brand new one apart?

Did you not buy any spare heads at the same time?

I use a small pair of pliers to pull the "knobbly bit" off, have you tried that, also wiggle it from side to side as you do it.

I was being curious I was going to remove one of the wicks if there were 2 on top of the coil.

I didn't buy any spare heads because i'm planning to re coil/wick them myself.

Update: Decided to just recoil it and hurrah It works and oh my god my juice tastes amazing in it! I have no idea how it makes it taste better but it does and I love it so very very much!

Good luck with that. I am sat here with my last "bought" head and it tasted like bonfire. I have 12.5 dismantled heads (1/2 a one lost!) in front of me right now being packed up for room 101.

I'm off out in 10 minutes for 6 hours. (On the road again). All ready to go with Joyetech 18650 tube and 1 Nova and 1 iClear... + the trusty Riva backup.

Don't let me put a dampener on things though....

Aww that sucks. Yep recoiled mine and the Mr's and we're both sat here vaping away as happy as Larry. I've popped my recoiling cherry, might actually use my vivi nova now. Have been too scared to use it up to now haha.

Ooh thanks Danny I'll keep that in mind for next time well been vaping away on it all afternoon and I have to say it's great, no complaints at all, bags of flavour and vapour, it's brilliant

I've just got home and put a 3rd brand new head in an Evod. Tastes terrible again. Metallic hot coil vape, exact repeat as yesterday.

If rewicking them is the way forward, maybe I've been too hasty to give up. But I feel doomed, and t.b.h. depressed.

The only time i got that Metalic taste once was because i forgot to wash a brand new Evod and didn't let the juice rest in the Evod for 10mins for the wick/coil to soak up the juice.

I washed mine and then boiled the new wick. The stock head had 6 wraps, I did 5 wraps using 0.2mm wire on 2mm wick with 1mm on top of the coils. I used the guide that Super-Shiny put together but I now can't find it again. I really need to bookmark that thing!!
