The rest of ingredients arrived in the post this morning so about to give it a bash. Can any of you expert mixers give me a little advice? I have both absinthe and aniseed flavourings at hand but I am really not sure whether to have both flavours in the mix or just one of them? I was thinking maybe one drop of each and the rest of the flavouring made up of blackcurrant and a touch of stevia and vape wizard. What say you experts?

Oh well. No replies so I went ahead anyway. Doesn't bode well. Mr Dolly came into the lounge just as I was finishing the mix and shouted... "Bloody hell!! Where's that stink of cat p*ss coming from?" I think I'll save this one for him to test first in a week or so.

What aniseed and what absinthe flavouring is that?
I am using Decadent Vapours absinthe at 15% with 5% Totally Wicked Gold Standard black currant for my absinthe type liquid and it is delicious. The FA aniseed that I have is quite weak and I stopped using it a while ago.

Dolly I restrained myself from giving my advice, which would have been to put on one of those face masks the Japanese are so fond of, mix both bottles of flavouring together and then flush them down the sink with copious amounts of cold water. You may gather I'm not a fan of aniseed and therefore not much help with this query

Hi Chris All flavours are from LIberty Flights maybe I have used too much blackcurrant and way too little aniseed and absinthe? I will leave it for a few days let OH try it first (me not silly) then alter the ratios. As I said yesterday on here. I tried scorpions blood at the meet up which was pretty much an exact replica of Pernod and black. Loved it. Steve, I understand it is an acquired taste. Bit like marmite. You either love it or hate it.

Liberty Flights sells different flavourings. The DV one is what I use and it is clearly labelled "Decadent Vapurs Flavour Concentrate Absinthe". The colour of the flavouring is a deep green and it is a bit cloudy. Does that sound like yours? If so, the minimum percentage I would use is 10% - up to 20% if you want to use it by itself.
Maybe you could try mixing the absinthe and the blackcurrant seperately and find a mix between the two later.
Edit: By the way - the absinthe doesn't really need steeping - a good shake and a couple hours wait is good enough for a test.

I thought I only had to use tiny amounts. Last week I really over did it with a menthol mix so didnt want to make the same mistake again

Dolly you're approaching it the right way around. You can always add more flavour, but you can't take it out

Ah, I see what this is about now - the Scorpion Blood by Mido. I never tasted that, unfortunately, so I don't have an idea how to replicate it. But the absinthe+blackcurrant is quite good on its own. I even thought about adding a splash of koolada or menthol, but never got around to it.
Basically yes, it is a good idea to start low with the flavourings and add later. But even if you went too high, you can always dilute with some base of your strength. I do that all the time.
Oh, and be careful with the absinthe in clearomisers, the flavouring is notorious for breaking tanks, even if it never happened to me.

You could always make all three flavours up separately Dolly to suit your tastes, let them steep a little . . . then add a little at a time to each other in a fresh bottle. As Chris said FA Aniseed is quite mild compared to DV's, so you may need a little more to get the effect you're after.
