Woke at midnight (not unusual) and just looked at the girls to find tabitha (top rat) climbing outside the cage. Thought 'how on earth did she get out? Caught her (took some doing) and like put her back and tried to find escape route. Found it 30 minutes later (chewed plastic base) and put a plastic foldaway box over it with some tape (temporary) Then spent 2 hours researching causes (boredom) and solutions (metal cage though first ordered chicken wire). Ordered (praise God for savings!!!!) and should be here on friday....then took another 30 minutes to figure out what to do with them in the mean time (it's 2am by this point). So eventually put Bob (40 months) in the girls cage and the girls in Bob's cage (all metal). It's a little tiny for them but is only for a few days... Now I can't sleep and am going to be whacked later What with the tubigrip drama of trying to get a tubigrip on Henrietta (She has a huge mammory tumour) and what not I didn't need that. Night staff whom I can phone in crisis thought it was hilarious!!! Yeah.....why me?

Got to bed at 5am....don't like all this drama. New cage should be coming tomorrow..then it's just a question of putting it up.... and getting rid of the old cage LOL What with Ma being a drama queen...me getting sunburn etc etc this has been far too melodramatic a week... And am out of cheese so missed lunch Pants Sorry for rant. Drama week is supposed to be next week when sibling visits LOL (we don't get on) not this week:(

You need an old fish tank dudette. The rats in my stables chewed through the bottom of an industrial chest freezer!!!

My boa used to loooooove rats, she's too big for them now though A cage like the one below is ideal for rats. Make sure you give them plenty to do to stop them from getting bored.

Jez ya being grosse..... Cage coming this pm. All metal base and just got bedroom door closed to girlies going for a run this pm (hallway only place I can clear of chewables LOL)... Just a bit worried about Henrietta and her tumour. Ma still full of excuses why she spent a fortune on her rabbit this week. I mean it's not rocket science that after anaesthesia rabbit won't eat for the first night.... So Ma is being selfish and I have H coming on Monday (just for the day from London - go figure?). She's in Ireland right now. Haven't been told when she's back in London on Saturday so can't phone to find out when she is going to meet up (just for coffee - just for an hour? Go figure?) and have had to reschedule Bob's appointment at the vets for Monday at 4. H won't like it if she's got the day planned out but what can I do? My weird family Sorry for ranting....just a mad week

Cage came and got up but now I have pulled my back. K didn't come for old rat cage this am so that's in my bedroom. Made a right mess putting new cage up....Girls happy now they have some of their 'old' stuff (sputnik hidey house and upturned bucket).
So yeah guess what I have been doing this am - cleaning rat stuff....
Whilst I'm here - anyone any idea why Bob (40 months) snores? Or is just an elderly male thing?
