Are you finding it easier on the metal lathe now Gary? I know you said it would be better on a wood lathe, is that because a wood lathe runs slower?

I think on the wood lathe you have more feel if you get me. On the metal lathe you are turning wheels. Not sure on the speed thing tbh.
I'm running a vid on the metal lathe this Mon on making the red tip above.

OK, I wasn't sure as I have no experience of a wood lathe. I presume you are talking about the way you hold a cutting tool in your hands on the wood lathe? Is there any reason you can't set that sort of thing up on the metal lathe? It would be possible to build a solid edge to hold tools against.

I noticed you'd got the quick change tool post from your earlier lathe vid, if you've got a grinder you could make some rounded tools of your own that will cut this Acrylic easily. You just need some decent steel for cutting these, doesn't have to be HSS or harder.

Today's tip of the day. Though about it Mev but happy with the metal tools, I'm adapting to working with them now. Cheers for the tip.
