I got home today to find a nice little carto tank and 5 punched boges lined up with the mail. Thanks to vapingthings for their speedy service. I've filled it up and so far, touch wood, it's a great vape; just as I expected a carto without needing attention too often! Anyway, I just wanted to ask a couple of Qs please? I filled up the carto as normal, then slid it in the tank, then left enough room to slide a needle-tip to top up the tank to 3/4 full. Is there another method? Having puffed away on it, the top of the carto (drip tip end) is now quite dry and doesn't seem to be sucking up juice from the lower area of the carto where the holes are. Is this OK? Are the actual coils positioned in a place that will be soaked with juice, or is the lack of juice at the drip tip end a worry. (Call me dim, but I'd kind of thought the filler would be kind of "wicking") If this goes well - I'd be keen to get a tank where the carto won't slide quite so freely up and down - seems a recipe for disaster.. It's a boge F15 (sounds like a fighter jet ) and vapes terrifically. I wanted a "baby" one to start....my favourite vendors didn't seem to do small tanks. Ta.

Holes too small, or juice too thick?

You may need to prime it after a bit of use to keep carto wet - needs a good suck ! This might help

I was thinking about getting the same, seems more convenient, don't you have to use a syringe on the first fill?

I find that if your tank has a v good seal like the X8 then I only need 1 hole as there's a decent vaccum effect which keeps the carto soaked without flooding. But just keep topping up the carto when it looks dry and remember its gravity that needs time to work so be patient

djs You will of course get people saying that the following info is rubbish! Having said that, this is my own personal carto set up and it works very well everytime. I use an AGR locking carto tank, the cartos don't need to be flanged and never slip or slide out of the tank. There is a filling hole on top next to drip tip placement so I can fill to top. Secondly, I use Horizontal coil Kanger cartos, I find no need to prime them and out of the 30 cartos i have put through it so far have nod had a single one fail, very impressed, wish i could of said the same for Boge. Finally, I use an AGR carto punch, its a blatant copy of the Kir Fanis carto punch and works every time without fail. Anyone on here who knows me well, knows I despise faff, if you want a set up that just works, use this, if you want links let me know.

This was my guide too myself and always worked well: For carto's i always used: www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Cartomisers/Boge-Pre-Punched-Cartomisers-5.htmlNon punched carto’s i would use these in silver: www.vapeescape.co.uk/Deluxe-Vaping-Kits/VE-Riva-1100-Deluxe-Kit/Boge-510-Standard-Resistance-5.htmlwww.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Cartomisers/Boge-XL-Cartomisers-5.htmlI would punch them 1 x 2mm hole (No bigger and No smaller), a 2mm hole should accommodate most thickness of juices. Once the carto is punched i would fill them using the condom method and leave to rest for 20-30 mins, once rested make sure there is no flooding, good idea is to vape the carto for a couple of seconds on it's own to make sure all is fine. 1: This applies to tanks with a filling hole at the top: If the carto is fine and good to go fit it into the tank and screw tank lid on (only fill tank with the hole provided on top of the cap). 2: This applies to tanks without a filling hole at the top: If the carto is fine and good to go fit it into the tank too about 70% in so there is just enough room at the top too fill the juice into tank (Recommend to use a needle cap filler or syringe). Fill tank too around 60-70%, i prefer 60%, i tend to find the more you fill it the more chance of flooding (think it is to do with pressure). Leave to rest in the tank for awhile to let the carto adjust to it and then try it out. You can also before starting to use it is do the dry vaping, by blocking the bottom of the carto hole (when it's in the tank) vape until you see no more bubbles come out of the punched hole, like this video here: Another video on tanks here: The other reason i fill to around 60% is because IF it does feel like it is flooding you can tilt the tank and vape only the juice from the carto which will empty the extra juice in the carto, if the tank was 100% full you could not do this because there is no empty room left so it will just keep pulling in more juice from the tank. Gotta just remember that the Carto is like a submarine in water and all that juice is wanting to get in, so when vaping with a tank it's best not to fast vape continuously as you will be pulling in loads of juice too much and too often. Hope some of this helps.

OK, some very helpful replies and I will watch all the videos....thanks guys and girls. No.1 - I shan't be using this particular carto tank once I get another - I realised the disastrous failing of this particular design is patently obvious if you ever need to take it off and fiddle around i.e. that a tweak the wrong way will see the cart slide out the top of the tank and empty all the juice. Boge? You've set new standards of daftness with this, I'm afraid. On a battery it's fine, take it off and it will slide up and down any way it wants....kind of kindergarten error really. No.2 - I shall get an AGR locking one....for sure. No. 3 - I expect the size and number of holes is going to be the number one factor with these. I bought pre-punched (2 v.v.small holes) and even with a mainly PG (everyday ratio) juice....it's going to need more (or bigger), no question. At least I'm not going mad.... Updates later in the week with a new one. So far, enjoying it all, but possibly not the success I was hopeful for.

It's all ordered. I am hopeful with the right hole arrangement, the Boge F15 might be usable. Thanks everybody. You are the BEST.
