J_Mac have to confess I'm not sure about iframe, but when posting using full reply you can choose between(& change your default settings) Visual & BBCode.

It's for inserting things like interactive excel spreadsheets. Thought it would be a good idea since we do a lot of that! Here's a ropey looking example I threw up on one of my websites just now while working on a recipe spreadsheet. It requires HTML code but I understand there is a proboards add-on which allows bbcode iframes. Excel iframe example

Never a good idea to allow iframes in a forum open to public. Can be used to execute malicious code on unwitting users machines.
