Hi guys! Love the forum! So glad I found it. A little of my back story: I purchased a couple of Nicolites 2 years ago. I was...ummm...less than impressed with them and put them away. A couple of months ago I decided I absolutely had to give up smoking so I started on Chantix. It worked, to a certain extent but I just couldn't completely stop smoking. I came across the Nicolites and thought I'd give them another go. To my surprise I found they did seem to provide the necessary hand-to-mouth habit and mostly seemed to provide a realistic alternative to smoking. Whilst Googling for replacement cartomisers, I discovered I could refill them so purchased some liquid. I them decided to try another type of e-cig and purchased one of these www.ecigwizard.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=MINI510KIT for a tenner. I was very happily surprised by the improved draw but of course the small power battery means it needs lots of recharging. I then found a mini eGo for 9 quid. I thought it might be useful for a transatlantic flight I have to take in a few days. In the past I've used snus on flights and tehy are nowhere near good enough. I liked the design of the mini eGo but the draw was way less powerful than on the mini 510. So I swapped the cartomisers over and found that the larger cartomisers from the mini 510 improved the mini eGo no end. Deciding to take a step up again I purchased an eGo-C yesterday (it cost 30 quid but half an hour later found the same one for half that price, which p****ed me off, but that's another story). It arrived today and...well...maybe I'm doing something wrong but it's nowhere near as good as the cartmiser e-cigs I've been using. The amount of vapour I'm getting is way too little to be of any use. I followed the instructions, I even checked out a couple of Youtube vids to make sure I was doing it right.
I've tried it with the cartomiser from the mini 510 on the eGo-C and it works like a dream.
My question is: are cartomisers just better than the atomiser and tank set up for amount of vapour produced, or am I doing something wrong? Also, is it OK to use the mini 510 cartomiser on the eGo-C or will I damage something?

You can try it. I would think an ego would also fit a 510 though may not look at snug. It's not going to 'kill' it unless you screw it in too tight.
Cartomisers are all in one cartridges and atomisers. Why not drop ecigwizard a line and see what they recommend. They are very friendly and lovely chaps and ladies.
I don't have an ego-c but knowing egos they are pretty much a standard fitting...you can also buy some 510 cartos (try dual coil they are fab) and try a few different ones and see what you like. You can try Boge/Kanger/all sorts...
Or get yourself a wee evod....that should act pretty much like a tank but fit the ego...
So much choice LOL

welcome It is fine to mix and match, you won't damage anything. You have batteries now, so it is easy to get new "attys" (cartomisers/atomisers etc). There are more than a few people who swear by cartomisers, personally, I find them a bother. I would recommend from personal experience that you try an evod. This will fit on your ego-c battery and will work a lot better. My absolute favourite are the iClear16s, but more people would point you towards the evod. Evods/iClears etc are called clearomisers, and most people end up going in that direction eventually The other option is to go for a tank, which is a cartomiser surrounded by a tank for the liquid. Some of them are excellent, but I prefer clearomisers. I wouldn't bother with an atomiser/tank set up, they are kind of old news, and very few people use them on a daily basis, perhaps you can guess why

Hi Murphyx, firstly welcome to the forum, we are a friendly bunch, who 99% of the time give sound advice.
Evod would be as already mentioned the best method to give you, flavour, vapour, throat hit.
Easy to fill, along with 1000`s of juice flavours you can buy.
Just keep off those "stinky KILLERS".

Hello & welcome As Dragon & Jeffc says, there is no problem at all using cartomisers, or anything else with a 510 thread on your ego battery I've never used the ego c type tank & cartridge as I've heard some folks say they sometimes don't wick too well. I much prefer cartomisers to clearomisers, but I'm now loving the new(ish) Evods www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Clearomisers/EVOD-BC-Clearomiser.html

Wow, thank you so much for the super-speedy and helpful replies. One thing I didn't mention is that I am luving vaping and luving the fact that I haven't used tobacco for over a week and see absolutely no need to now I've discovered vaping! Oh, one other thing: so now I have six batteries and 4 different chargers. Remembering which charger goes with which battery is becoming a bit of a pain. Is there a universal charger for batteries?

What do the different cartomiser resistances mean?
Sorry for all the dumb nooby questions. ???

If your battery fits on the charger, then you can use it. Your ego batteries should all charge on the same charger for sure As to resistances ... lower resistance gives more heat ... so lower tends to = more throat hit and is regarded as better for tobacco flavours Higher tends to = less throat hit and is regarded as better for fruit/sweet flavours
At the end of the day it actually comes down to personal preference, and the only way to decide is to try, because we are all different.

OK re the batteries - the mini 510 you bought from e-cig wizard will only be about 180mAh so that one needs to be charged with the charger that came with it. The others will be fine using any of the ego type chargers. And we never think any questions are dumb The lower the resistance of a cartomiser/clearomiser, the hotter it burns giving more throat hit & vapour. Edit - crossed posts with you Dragon

Welcome, I found the ego c to be very hit and miss, there is some learning involved in every device to get the best from it. I never did work out what the trick was with the Ego C tanks. But on the plus side you have some good batteries and lots of better devices will fit on them.
