Are you charging from a PC USB socket or a wall charger? charging via the iphone plug.

might of had some juice in the 510 connector of your battery, which has now got into the charger
you could try opening the charger (unplugged) ..should just be 2 little Phillips screws, see if there is any moisture in there and if so dry it out with a cotton bud.
have you got a multimeter?

I don't have a multimeter, would be worth picking one up, just took the 900mah ego apart and accidentally snapped the black ground wire :/ now I'm left with the 650mah ego Order the vamo v3 BC so hopefully should be here by the end of next week :fingers crossed:

ouch, unlucky mate..I've never taken an ego battery apart how did you manage that? have you got a soldering iron? you could just re-connect the wire with a tiny dab of solder?

I took it apart because I wanted to see if a wire came loose or something and was causing a short :/ ooops Haven't got a soldering iron Just have to use the 650mah one for now

I can confirm it was the charger, there was a loose connection in the part that it plugs in to the plug, and it was some how freezing the charger and stop providing power to the battery in turn the red LED was staying on :/ Thanks for all the help
